TradeShowIntel ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you visit tradeshowintel.com (the "Site") or use our services. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Information you provide: name, business email, company name, job title, billing details, and any content submitted via spotlight, listing, contact, or newsletter forms.
- Transaction data: order details, amounts, currency, and Stripe payment confirmations. We do not store full card numbers — payments are processed by Stripe.
- Account data: when you sign in via email one-time-password (OTP), we store your email and authentication session metadata.
- Usage & device data: pages visited, referring URL, browser type, device, approximate location (from IP), and interactions, collected via cookies and analytics (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads).
- Cookies & similar tech: essential cookies for the Site to function, plus analytics cookies. See Section 8.
- Aggregate listing traffic: we count page views on event listings, spotlights and roundups so verified event organisers can see anonymous traffic totals for their own event. Visitors are counted using a salted one-way fingerprint that changes daily; we do not store IP addresses and organisers never see individual visitors.
- Public business data: publicly available exhibitor and company information enriched through our data partners (e.g., DomainEnrich) for our exhibitor lists and spotlights.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Service delivery: write and publish Exhibitor Spotlights, fulfill exhibitor list orders, process event listings, and manage your account.
- Payments: process orders and refunds via Stripe and detect fraud.
- Communication: send order confirmations, OTP login codes, editorial notifications, support replies, and — only if you opt in — newsletters.
- Improvement & analytics: understand how visitors use the Site and improve content, performance, and features.
- Legal & security: comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect users and our infrastructure.
3. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable (e.g., GDPR, UK GDPR), we rely on:
- Contract: to deliver the services you request.
- Consent: for newsletters, non-essential cookies, and optional marketing.
- Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, and improve the Site, and to publish editorial content about exhibitors and events from public sources.
- Legal obligation: to meet tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
4. Sharing & Service Providers
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Payments: Stripe, Inc. (payment processing).
- Hosting & backend: Lovable Cloud (managed Supabase) for database, authentication, storage, and edge functions.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads.
- Ecosystem partners: Habsy.ai (cross-product features) and DomainEnrich (public business-data enrichment for exhibitor lists and spotlights).
- Email & notifications: transactional email and Slack alerting providers used to operate the service.
- Legal: authorities or third parties when required by law, to protect rights, or in connection with a corporate transaction.
5. International Data Transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country, including in Canada, the United States, and the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
6. Data Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above, to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and to resolve disputes. Newsletter subscribers may unsubscribe at any time. Published spotlights and editorial content remain online indefinitely unless we agree otherwise. You may request deletion at privacy@tradeshowintel.com.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), PIPEDA (Canada), DPDPA (India), and other privacy laws, including:
- Access, correct, update, or delete your personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Request portability of data you provided to us.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
- For California residents: we do not "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
To exercise any right, email privacy@tradeshowintel.com.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies for site functionality (e.g., authentication, session) and analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads) to understand traffic patterns and measure marketing performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We do not run third-party advertising networks beyond conversion measurement.
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption, role-based access controls, row-level security on our database, and provider-level controls (Stripe, Lovable Cloud). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
10. Children's Privacy
TradeShowIntel is a B2B service intended for professionals. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
