Visitors from the EU/EEA, Switzerland and the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Japan and other visa-waiver countries enter the Netherlands without a visa and need only a valid passport or national ID card. Nationals of most other countries — including India, China, Türkiye, South Africa and many Asian, African and Latin American states — must hold a Schengen short-stay (Type C) business visa applied for before departure at a Dutch embassy, consulate or VFS Global centre; the fee is EUR 90 for adults and EUR 45 for children aged 6–11, with a decision normally inside 15 calendar days. Visa-exempt travellers will also need an approved ETIAS authorisation once the EU entry system goes live (EUR 20, valid three years). Carry printed registration confirmation, hotel booking and travel insurance when crossing the border.
Estimated cost: Varies by visa type and nationality (check official site).
Processing: Varies by nationality; apply several weeks before travel.
Apply at the Dutch embassy, consulate or an authorised VFS Global centre in your country of residence at least 6–8 weeks before departure; the fee is EUR 45 for children aged 6–11 and free for children under 6. Valid three years or until passport expiry; it is an entry authorisation rather than a visa and is linked electronically to your passport.
