Most international visitors need an Indonesian visa, applied for online at the official portal evisa.imigrasi.go.id. Citizens of ASEAN member states and around 90 other nationalities can enter visa-free or with an e-Visa on Arrival (e-VOA, IDR 500,000, 30 days, extendable once) for short visits, but commercial meetings, negotiations and trade-fair business are properly covered by the single-entry C2 business visa (up to 60 days) or the multiple-entry D2 visa. Passports must be valid for at least six months and a sponsor or invitation letter plus return ticket is normally required. Exhibitors shipping machinery or samples should arrange temporary import documentation through a licensed Indonesian freight forwarder.
Estimated cost: Varies by visa type and nationality (check official site).
Processing: Varies by nationality; apply several weeks before travel.
