    Edition recap

The 34th Monaco Yacht Show took place from 24 to 27 September 2025 at Port Hercule, welcoming 29,956 visitors and confirming its status as the world's benchmark for superyachting. The Dockside Area showcased 120 superyachts — including 50 world premieres and 20 recent launches — with an estimated fleet value of €4.2 billion. Nearly 60% of the fleet was less than two years old, underscoring the show's role as the stage of choice for the industry's world premieres.

The 2025 edition marked a major milestone with the launch of Blue Wake™, a programme dedicated to innovation and sustainability curated in collaboration with Water Revolution Foundation. Fifty-nine vetted exhibitors presented eco-responsible solutions ranging from hydrogen propulsion and alternative fuels to recyclable materials and circular construction practices. The first Blue Wake™ Awards recognised TYKUN (hydrogen propulsion), Tai Ping (biodegradable carpets), Deasyl (low-carbon fuel), Sanlorenzo (fuel-cell yacht), and SilverYachts (recyclable aluminium catamaran).

The Monaco Yacht Summit brought together designers, technical experts, exhibitors, and private clients across eight round tables co-hosted with Superyacht Times, 20 expert-led talks, and the exclusive 'Becoming an Owner' session with Spear's Magazine. The day concluded with a screening of 'Ocean with David Attenborough'. The Adventure Area showcased 57 tenders, 23 luxury vehicles, and the latest water toys, while the Yacht Design & Innovation Hub presented futuristic concepts from 16 designers and naval architects. Photographer Guillaume Plisson's 'Tribute to Yachting' exhibition added an artistic dimension with 143 photographs displayed across the show.

Exhibitors praised the exceptional calibre of private clients, with many actively pursuing acquisitions or new-build projects. As Managing Director Gaëlle Tallarida noted, the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show reaffirmed its status as the world's premier yachting event, offering an immersive experience that guided visitors through every stage of yacht ownership.

    Impact

    A bigger and stronger platform

The Monaco Yacht Show is a strategic economic pillar for the Principality of Monaco. Each year, the show transforms Port Hercule into a global showcase for yachting. In 2025, more than 30,000 visitors were expected and 120 superyachts were exhibited, half of them world premieres. The fleet presented was valued at over €4.5 billion, illustrating the Principality's power of attraction among buyers, key opinion leaders and investors in the ultra-luxury segment. Yachting is a strategic sector for Monaco's economy and embodies an image of excellence, expertise and sustainability. Audience quality

    High-value decision-makers

The 2025 Monaco Yacht Show welcomed 29,956 visitors, including 13,586 private visitors (Discover, Sapphire Experience, yacht owner and yacht guest passes), 367 private visitors invited by MYS through bespoke client relations services, and 1,186 captains and crew. Exhibitors praised the high quality and engagement of private visitors, many actively pursuing acquisitions or new-build projects. The event drew an international clientele of yacht owners, prospective owners, charter clients, and yachting professionals. (https://www.monacoyachtshow.com/media-file/319350/mys annual-report.pdf)

    Exhibitor outcomes

    Real business growth

The 2025 Monaco Yacht Show delivered strong commercial outcomes despite a more restrained footfall. Landmark contracts were signed during the show, including Oceanco's agreement with Lloyd's Register to co-classify its 130-metre Project Y727 flagship, and Bilgin Yachts closing a sale for a new 53-metre project. Over 70 yachts were offered for sale, with combined asking prices approaching $2.9 billion. Exhibitors reported that buyers and brokers arrived focused, not as curious passers-by, with serious inquiries and new-build discussions remaining the core currency of the show. Industry commentary noted a shift toward quality over quantity, with every conversation mattering more. (https://yachtway.com/news/2025-monaco-yacht-show-in-review/)

Global superyacht market with primary hubs in the Mediterranean (Monaco, France, Italy, Spain), North America (Florida), the Middle East (Dubai), Northern Europe (Netherlands, Germany), and Asia-Pacific

    Why it matters

The Monaco Yacht Show 2026 matters because it is the single most important marketplace for the global superyacht industry, arriving at a pivotal moment of market recalibration. With approximately 120 superyachts on display — including 43 newly delivered vessels and an estimated fleet value of €4.5 billion — the show offers an unmatched concentration of near-term fleet, builders, brokers, and designers. In a market where new-build slots at leading shipyards are committed through 2028–2029, the show provides immediate access to yachts that are available now, not years from now. It is where the world's most significant brokerage transactions are initiated, where designers and naval architects debut their visions, and where the industry gathers to shape its future through programmes like Blue Wake™ and the Monaco Yacht Summit. For buyers, it is the definitive venue to compare vessels, meet shipyards, and make informed acquisition decisions with expert guidance. For exhibitors, it is where yacht projects move from first conversation to commitment within a single perimeter, and where the quality of clientele — yacht owners, prospective buyers, and charter clients — delivers exceptional return on presence. The show's role as an economic barometer for the sector is unmatched: as Toby Moore, the new Managing Director, notes, 'This is not just a snapshot of the market, but also one of the places where its future takes shape.' (https://www.monacoyachtshow.com/en/about-the-mys, https://www.dailynautica.com/en/interviews/the-new-managing-director-of-the-monaco-yacht-show-the-futures-of-the-yachting-industry-is-taking-shape-here/196042/

    Industry trends

Key trends shaping this market and its wider industry.

    01

Normalisation, Not Decline — A Market Recalibrating

The global superyacht market recorded a more measured first half of 2026, with transaction volumes moderating compared to the post-pandemic boom. Sales of yachts above 24 metres declined 15% year-on-year to 444 transactions, yet total sales value rose to $4.56 billion, signalling buyer confidence at the upper end. The average length of yacht sold grew to 34.4 metres, and the share of transactions for yachts over 50 metres increased. The market is normalising toward a more sustainable pattern while remaining healthy by historical standards. (

    02

Buyers Hold the Advantage as Brokerage Inventory Grows

Increased brokerage inventory has returned negotiating power to buyers. In H1 2026, 511 yachts entered the market against 444 completed sales, creating one of the broadest selections of brokerage yachts in recent years. Buyers are approaching acquisitions with more confidence, comparing multiple yachts before deciding. Pre-owned yacht sales fell 8% to 326 units, but aggregate sales value rose 15% to $3.51 billion, indicating buyers remain highly selective yet willing to commit at scale when value aligns. (

    Source
    03

Refit Market Emerges as a Strategic Growth Sector

The superyacht refit industry now represents 36% of global business opportunities in the sector, valued between $3 billion and $5 billion per year and growing at 6–9% annually. Over 20,600 refit operations on yachts over 30 metres were recorded in the 2020–2024 period, a 12% increase over the previous five years. Projections for 2025–2029 indicate further growth, with over 22,000 operations expected. New build slot constraints at leading shipyards are reinforcing refit as an essential component of yacht ownership. (

    Source
    04

    Sustainability Verification and Anti-Greenwashing

Sustainability has moved from aspiration to verification. The Monaco Yacht Show's Blue Wake™ programme, developed in partnership with Water Revolution Foundation, independently assesses exhibitors' environmental solutions across four impact areas: emissions reduction, material circularity, eco-design and innovation, and protection of water and marine ecosystems. For 2026, the programme expanded to include brokerage and yacht management companies for the first time, with 60 projects validated. The industry's credibility now depends on independently verified environmental claims. (

    Source
    05

Larger Yachts Dominate New Build and Brokerage

The market is polarising toward larger vessels. In 2026, seven 100-metre-plus yachts were delivered, the largest being the 134.2-metre Lürssen-built Deep Blue. The 40–50 metre segment posted 45 sales in H1 2026, ahead of 2025, 2024, and 2023. Of all vessels in progress globally, 26 are over 100 metres. Meanwhile, the 30–40 metre segment is experiencing a progressive contraction as demand shifts toward yachts over 40 metres, particularly in the custom and semi-custom segments. (

    Source
    06

Hybrid Propulsion and Onboard Technology Innovation

Hybrid propulsion, diesel-electric systems, battery storage, and energy recovery are appearing across the 2026 fleet. Sustainability is one driver, but fuel consumption, operating costs, range, and time away from port are increasingly shaping innovations. Rising and unpredictable fuel costs are putting greater focus on how efficiently yachts operate. Onboard technology — from advanced navigation and communication systems to wellness-focused beach clubs and privacy-enhancing design — is a key differentiator for new builds. (

The ATA Carnet is accepted in Monaco, administered by France. Although the Principality is not a member of the European Union, Monaco is part of the EU customs territory due to its customs union with France. The ATA Carnet allows for the temporary importation of goods duty-free and tax-free for up to one year, and is used for trade fairs, exhibitions, professional equipment, and commercial samples. The Monaco Economic Board (MEB), affiliated with the French Chambers of Commerce and Industry network, processes ATA Carnets for businesses in the Principality. Venue connectivity

Monaco has no airport; the nearest international gateway is Nice Côte d'Azur (NCE), approximately 30 km west along the coast. Monaco is accessible by road (A8 motorway), rail (Gare de Monaco-Monte-Carlo, underground station served by TER regional trains and some TGV services), helicopter (7-minute transfer from Nice airport to Monaco Heliport in Fontvieille), and bus (Zou! line 80/110 express service). Within Monaco, Port Hercule is served by city bus lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, the solar-powered Bateau Bus shuttle across the port, and the free bus service during the Monaco Yacht Show period. The Nice airport has a direct link to Nice Saint-Augustin station via free tram lines 2 and B, from where TER trains reach Monaco in approximately 20–34 minutes. Cultural notes

Useful information to help you have a smooth and respectful visit.

    Business Etiquette and Formality

Business culture in Monaco is formal and hierarchical. Meetings are typically scheduled in advance, and punctuality is expected. Business attire is conservative, and professional titles ('Mr.', 'Mrs.') and last names are used until explicitly invited to use first names. A brief handshake is a common professional greeting. (

    Yacht Etiquette

When boarding a yacht, remove your shoes unless instructed otherwise. Passerelles are thresholds; pause and wait to be invited aboard. Greet crew members first and thank them last. Photos are acceptable on terraces but not in private spaces. Be mindful of phone etiquette and digital discretion—no live geotagging. (https://yachtlueur.com/monaco-yachts-guide/

    Dress Code

Smart casual attire is standard for the Monaco Yacht Show. Business meetings happen on board yachts and in dedicated lounges. Evening events call for formal attire. Avoid clothing that may offend other participants or the local culture. (https://monacopratique.com/en/guide/getting-to-monaco/

    Language and Communication

French is the official language of Monaco, though English is widely spoken in the yachting industry and hospitality sector. Using basic French phrases such as 'merci' and 's'il vous plaît' signals respect for local customs. (

    Visitor & Exhibitor Essentials

Everything needed to arrive prepared, navigate the event, and make the visit productive.

    Flights

    Destination: NCE

Book flights early as September is peak travel season on the French Riviera. Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is the primary gateway with around 100 national and international routes. Private jet arrivals use the dedicated business aviation terminal at Nice or Cannes-Mandelieu Airport. Helicopter transfers from Nice to Monaco should be booked in advance, especially during the show period. (https://www.visitmonaco.com/en/plan-your-stay/access-and-transport/getting-to-the-principality/arriving-by-plane)

    Visa

Monaco does not have its own visa system. Entry to the Principality is governed by French Schengen rules. Visa-exempt nationals (including EEA, US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, and many others) can enter for up to 90 days in any 180-day period on a valid passport. Nationals of visa-required countries must obtain a France Schengen Visa (Type C) from a French embassy or consulate before travel. (https://www.visa-requirements.io/blog/complete-monaco-visa-guide-2026/, https://monaco-coe.gouv.mc/en/informations-et-demarches/visiting-monaco)

    Estimated cost: Not yet confirmed

    Processing: 15–20 working days

A Schengen visa valid for France is also valid for Monaco. For business visits, applicants typically need an invitation letter from a Monaco-based company, proof of accommodation, travel insurance, and sufficient funds. ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) is targeted for launch in late 2026 with a transitional period; it is a paid pre-travel authorisation for visa-exempt nationals, not a visa. Should you go?

Answer 7 questions to determine whether the Monaco Yacht Show 2026 is right for you as a visitor, an exhibitor, or something to skip. Scores are weighted by your answers — the outcome with the highest total determines your recommendation

    QUESTION 1 OF 7

What is your primary goal for attending the Monaco Yacht Show 2026?

    Decision matrix

Compare participation options side by side to choose the best fit for your objectives.

    visit

You have a genuine interest in superyachts over 24 metres and can commit at least one full day, with a budget of €700+ for a ticket and €200+ per night for accommodation. Best for those with active purchase, charter, or industry research goals. (https://www.monacoyachtshow.com/en/ticketing

    Best for

UHNW yacht buyers, charter clients, yacht owners, and industry professionals seeking to compare superyachts, meet shipyards and brokers, and explore design and technology trends in one location

    Min. budget

    $700.00

    Timeline

Book tickets 2–4 weeks in advance; book flights and accommodation 2–3 months ahead for best rates

    Risks

Ticket prices are high (€700+ per day) with no on-site sales

Wednesday access is restricted to VIPs and invited guests only

Accommodation in Monaco sells out months in advance and is expensive during show week

Yacht viewings are at the discretion of exhibitors and often require pre-arranged appointments

    exhibit

Your product or service targets the superyacht market directly, you have a dedicated sales team, and you can commit budget and resources to a 12–18 month ROI horizon. The show is strongest for those with pre-booked meetings and a clear commercial objective. (https://showfloortips.com, https://www.monacoyachtshow.com/en/become-an-exhibitor

    Best for

Shipyards, yacht brokers, naval architects, designers, equipment manufacturers, tender and water toy brands, luxury lifestyle brands, and service providers targeting the superyacht market

    Min. budget

    $3,000.00

    Timeline

Apply via Become an Exhibitor form 6–12 months in advance; booth contracts typically available 6–12 months before the event

    Risks

Booth costs are significant (estimated $3,000–$15,000 for space, with total costs 2–3× rental)

Competition for attention is intense — over 560 exhibitors across the show

ROI is not immediate; yacht sales cycles run 6–12 months post-show

Without pre-scheduled meetings and a structured follow-up plan, lead quality suffers

    skip

Your interest is in smaller boats, production yachts, or sailing yachts under 24 metres, or you are not ready to commit budget and time to a superyacht-focused event. Consider Cannes Yachting Festival or Boot Düsseldorf as alternatives. (

    Best for

General boating enthusiasts with no superyacht interest, first-time boat buyers looking at smaller vessels, budget-conscious visitors, and businesses outside the superyacht or ultra-luxury supply chain

    Min. budget

    Not yet confirmed

    Timeline

    Not applicable

    Risks

The show is exclusively focused on yachts over 24 metres with an average fleet length of 50 metres

Ticket prices are among the highest of any boat show (€700+ per day)

Travelling to Monaco during show week is expensive and accommodation is scarce

Alternative shows such as Cannes Yachting Festival (8–13 September 2026) offer broader variety at lower cost
