Book flights well in advance, especially during the peak summer travel season. Consider booking a hotel that offers airport shuttle service for convenience.

Visa

Visa requirements depend on nationality. Citizens of ~39 countries can enter visa-free for up to 45 days. Most other nationalities must obtain an e-visa (valid for up to 90 days) via the official portal evisa.gov.vn. Business travelers may also apply for DN1 or DN2 visas through a Vietnamese embassy or consulate if a longer stay or specific business activities are required. All travelers must have a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond entry and at least 2 blank pages.

The e-visa is the recommended option for most short-term business visitors due to its convenience and nationwide acceptance. It is valid at all 83 international entry points. The old visa-on-arrival system (pre-approval letter + stamping fee) is effectively discontinued for most nationalities; the e-visa is now the standard electronic pathway. Travelers should apply at least 2 weeks before travel to allow for processing and corrections. A Digital Arrival Card must be completed within 72 hours before departure via prearrival.immigration.gov.vn. Printed copies of all documents are recommended as digital copies may not be accepted at all checkpoints.
