    Weather

October in Dubai is hot and sunny, marking the transition from peak summer. Average high temperatures are around 35-36°C (95-97°F) and average lows around 27-28°C (81-82°F). Rainfall is extremely rare with essentially 0 mm expected in October. Clear or sunny skies are expected on nearly all days. UV levels remain high, so sun protection is advised. Lightweight, breathable clothing is recommended for outdoor travel, but bring a light layer for heavily air-conditioned venues

    Plan for the climate

    Check temperatures and pack accordingly

    Venue connectivity

Dubai World Trade Centre is exceptionally well-connected. The Dubai Metro Red Line stops at World Trade Centre Station, which is a 2-minute walk from the venue. The Red Line connects directly to Dubai International Airport (Terminals 1 & 3) and runs through key districts including Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, and Jumeirah Lakes Towers. Trains run every 3-7 minutes during peak hours. Taxis and ride-hailing services (Careem, Uber) operate 24/7 at the venue, with designated drop-off and pick-up points. The venue is centrally located on Sheikh Zayed Road, with quick links from both DXB and DWC airports. Bus route 29 stops at the Novotel Hotel stop outside the Convention Gate entrance. Cultural notes

Useful information to help you have a smooth and respectful visit.

    Business Relationship Building

In the Gulf business culture, relationships are built on trust and personal rapport before commercial discussions progress. At Dubai trade shows, expect initial conversations to focus on understanding your intent and long-term commitment rather than immediate transactions. Taking time to build rapport over coffee or in hospitality areas is standard practice and can lead to more substantive discussions later. Business in the UAE is built on relationships and trust, and developing a good rapport can enhance business prospects

    Business Etiquette and Dress

Business dress is generally formal with knees and shoulders covered. A firm handshake with direct but warm eye contact is appropriate for men. When greeting women, wait to see if a hand is extended first. Always address colleagues and business partners by their titles and last names unless invited to use first names. Arabic is the official language, but English is widely spoken in business settings. The traditional Arabic greeting is 'As-salam alaikum' (peace be upon you), to which the response is 'Wa alaikum as-salam' (and upon you be peace)

    Punctuality and Meeting Etiquette

Punctuality is highly valued in UAE business culture. Arriving on time shows professionalism and respect. However, be prepared for some flexibility in schedules, as meetings may start later than planned. Meetings are typically structured, but decision-making can take time, as senior figures often have the final say. Demonstrating patience and allowing discussions to unfold naturally can work in your favour

    Business Card Etiquette

Exchanging business cards is a common practice in UAE business culture. Offer your card with your right hand and receive one the same way. It's courteous to take a moment to examine a card before putting it away, rather than immediately slipping it into your pocket. Seniority in Emirati culture goes beyond age—it's about status, position, and experience

    Dining and Social Customs

Business dinners often start later in the evening, typically around 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. Use this time to build relationships rather than negotiate. Alcohol may not be served at some venues, and it is respectful to follow your host's lead. When invited to a majlis-style seating area, accept the offer of coffee or dates as a gesture of goodwill. Hospitality is a key part of business culture in Dubai—it's common to be offered coffee or tea at meetings, and it's respectful to accept
