    Testimonials

Sirha Lyon is one of the greatest shows for chefs and we got the best out of it. It's a great family and a great ambiance at Worldchefs Village. There was a wide range of visitors – at our booth we had professionals, chefs, schools, restaurant owners and chain owners. It has been our first Worldchefs Village experience and we loved it. The types of contacts we had… it was unbelievable

    Francesca La Chiusa · Europe Sales Director · Alto-Shaam · 2025

The five-day experience at Sirha Lyon was excellent. We got a lot of contacts, met a lot of customers, new customers, potential customers- it was a very good exchange with all people we met at the booth. It was a nice collaboration with all the staff of Worldchefs and good synergy for both. There were very different people and customers at Sirha. For us, it was a good opportunity to meet our distributors all over the world, and also some very famous chefs from different countries, but also the main focus was final customers from France – traiteurs, restaurants, chefs, hotels – very different types of customer channels

Europe (primarily France, with strong international pull across Europe and globally)

    Why it matters

Sirha Lyon 2027 matters because it sits at the intersection of the most dynamic forces reshaping global food service. The European foodservice market is estimated at USD 1.04 trillion in 2026, growing at a 9.18% CAGR through 2031. The show's new format—organised around profession universes rather than product categories—mirrors how the industry itself is reorganising. The Hospitality Factory Hall and expanded Hall Liquide signal that hospitality is no longer just about food; it's about design, ambience, and the total guest experience. With trends like AI integration, no/low alcohol beverages, plant-based innovation, and global flavours driving change, Sirha Lyon is the primary deal-making and trend-spotting platform for operators, suppliers, and investors across the HORECA value chain. The event's record-breaking 2025 edition (257,363 professionals, +25% vs 2023) and strong early commercialisation for 2027 demonstrate its central role in the global food service calendar

    Lyon: France's Gastronomic Capital

Lyon is widely regarded as the gastronomic capital of France, home to legendary chefs like Paul Bocuse and a rich culinary heritage. The city's traditional bouchons serve iconic Lyonnaise dishes such as quenelles de brochet (pike dumplings), andouillette, and cervelle de canut (a herbed cheese spread)

    Business Etiquette

French business culture values formality and punctuality. Address counterparts as 'Madame' or 'Monsieur' until invited to use first names-. The 'quart d'heure lyonnais' (15-minute grace period) applies to social gatherings but rarely to structured professional events-. Discussing food, geography, and culture is preferred over aggressive sales pitches-. Wine is a customary part of business meals

    Dining and Tipping

Meals in France are often paced deliberately; guests should feel comfortable lingering through several courses-. Service charges are usually included in restaurant bills, but leaving a modest additional tip for standout service is appreciated
