Why it matters
The SEMA Show is the definitive global gathering for the automotive specialty-equipment aftermarket, representing an industry that contributes approximately $337 billion to the U.S. economy and supports 1.3 million jobs. With the global automotive aftermarket projected to grow from $498.35 billion in 2025 to $535.46 billion in 2026 at a 7.4% CAGR, the Show serves as the industry's annual epicenter for product launches, OEM-aftermarket collaboration, and strategic business connections. Exhibitor commitments for 2026 have surpassed 1 million net square feet with more than 2,000 brands, reflecting sustained confidence and investment across the aftermarket. Major OEM participation from Ford, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Stellantis, and Toyota reinforces the Show's role as the meeting place where factory engineering and aftermarket innovation converge. For businesses across performance, trucks, off-road, powersports, restyling, and collision repair, SEMA Show 2026 is the single most important trade event for reaching qualified buyers, media, and industry decision-makers.
Industry trends
Key trends shaping this market and its wider industry.
01
Electrification Reshapes Aftermarket Product Mix
The automotive aftermarket is being reshaped by vehicle electrification, with growth in EV-specific replacement parts, battery diagnostics, high-voltage service tools, and thermal-management systems. Traditional parts lifecycles are compressing as software-defined components broaden the scope of aftermarket services.
ADAS Calibration and Diagnostics Become Core Service Capability
ADAS-related components and calibration services are a rapidly growing aftermarket segment. Approximately 60% of repair shops report being able to perform ADAS system replacement with full capabilities, and ADAS calibration is becoming a key differentiator for independent service providers.
E-Commerce and Digital Platforms Transform Parts Distribution
The e-commerce automotive aftermarket is growing at 16.3% CAGR, with consumers expecting quick parts identification, transparent pricing, and reliable delivery. Direct-to-consumer sales models, data-driven inventory management, and digital parts catalogs with VIN-level fitment are reshaping distribution strategies.
Truck and Off-Road Segment Drives Aftermarket Growth
Pickup trucks are the largest vehicle segment in the automotive aftermarket, generating $15.0 billion and accounting for 30% of all specialty-equipment spending. Suspension products ($3.15 billion) and off-road/oversize tires ($2.23 billion) are among the largest product categories, fueled by the growing overlanding and adventure lifestyle movement.
Heightened regulatory scrutiny and consumer demand for sustainability are accelerating adoption of remanufacturing, circular-service models, and low-emission components. Consumers are demonstrating willingness to pay more for sustainable parts, creating new opportunities for suppliers that prioritize eco-friendly product lines.
Mobile Electronics and Connected Vehicle Technology Expand
The U.S. automotive mobile electronics aftermarket has grown into a $3.36 billion market, driven by consumer demand for infotainment, telematics, car audio, and connected vehicle technologies. This segment continues to expand as vehicle platforms diversify and consumers seek enhanced in-vehicle experiences.
Truck and Off-Road Brands Drive Innovation at the 2026 SEMA Show
Hundreds of exhibitors will unveil new products and technologies in the dedicated Trucks, SUVs & Off-Road section in West Hall. The SEMA Market Report shows pickup trucks generate $15.0 billion and account for 30% of all specialty-equipment spending.
SEMA Show Exhibitors Share News and Announcements Ahead of 2026 Show

B-1 Business Visitor Visa
Citizens of countries not participating in the Visa Waiver Program who are traveling to the U.S. for business purposes, including attending trade shows, conferences, or conventions.
$435.00
Varies by consular post; interview wait times can range from days to several months. An optional $750 expedited interview fee (effective July 1–Dec 31, 2026) can secure an appointment within 10 business days at select posts.
ESTA (Visa Waiver Program)
Citizens of Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries traveling to the U.S. for business or tourism for 90 days or less.
$40.27
Usually within 72 hours; most approvals are immediate, but some cases require manual review.
Citizens of the following 42 countries are eligible for the Visa Waiver Program and may travel to the U.S. for business (including trade shows) for up to 90 days without a visa, provided they obtain an approved ESTA: Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom. Canadian citizens are generally visa-exempt for business visits. All other nationalities require a B-1 visa.
The ATA Carnet is accepted in the United States for temporary import of commercial goods, including items for trade shows and exhibitions, professional equipment, and samples. Goods intended to be consumed or given away at a trade show are not allowed under an ATA Carnet. The U.S. did not sign the Exhibitions and Fairs Convention, but it is common practice for trade show goods to be imported under Carnet as 'Commercial Samples.' Paper carnets are currently required for U.S. Customs; digital eATA carnets are not yet accepted for U.S. entry. ATA Carnet fees range from $255 to $545 depending on the value of goods. Standard processing takes 2–3 business days; 24-hour and same-day expedited services are available for an additional fee. USCIB resumed issuing ATA Carnets in the U.S. on October 1, 2026.
November in Las Vegas offers mild days and cool nights. Early November daytime highs reach 70-74°F (21-23°C), dropping to 61-64°F (16-18°C) by late November. Nighttime lows range from 48-52°F (9-11°C) early in the month to 42-43°F (5-6°C) near the end. The month is very dry, with only 1-2 days of measurable rain on average. Daylight hours decrease from about 10.7 hours on November 1 to 9.9 hours by November 30. Winds are generally light to gentle.

Venue connectivity
Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) is well-connected via multiple transportation options. Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) is approximately 3.5 miles away with taxi, rideshare, and shuttle access. The Las Vegas Monorail connects the Convention Center to major Strip hotels including MGM Grand, Paris Las Vegas, Caesars Palace, Harrah's/The LINQ, Westgate, and SAHARA. The Vegas Loop underground Tesla system provides free on-campus transportation across LVCC halls and connects to Resorts World and the Sahara Las Vegas station, with plans to extend to the airport. Complimentary hotel shuttle service operates between LVCC and official SEMA Show hotels during morning and afternoon hours.

Cultural notes
Useful information to help you have a smooth and respectful visit.
Tipping Culture
Tipping is expected and standard in Las Vegas. Tip 18-20% at sit-down restaurants, $2-$5 for valet parking, $1-$2 per bag for bellhops, and $1-$2 per drink for cocktail servers. Carry small bills ($1s, $5s) for convenience. Casino ATMs charge high fees, so withdraw cash in advance.
Walkability Reality
The Las Vegas Strip is about 4.2 miles long, and casino exteriors use design tricks to appear closer than they are. Distances can be deceiving. Wear comfortable shoes and do not hesitate to use rideshare or the Monorail for longer hauls. The LVCC campus itself is expansive; the Vegas Loop can reduce a 25-minute walk to about 2 minutes.
Hydration
Las Vegas is in the Mojave Desert. Even in November, drink plenty of water. Carry a refillable bottle and hydrate between alcoholic beverages. Tap water is generally safe to drink.
Business & Trade Show Etiquette
SEMA Show is a trade-only event; business attire is typical for exhibitors and buyers. Comfortable shoes are essential given the scale of the venue. The Show is a business environment focused on networking and commerce, though Las Vegas's entertainment culture is always present.

Flights
Destination: Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)
Book flights early as November is a popular convention period in Las Vegas. LAS is served by all major US carriers and numerous international airlines. The airport is approximately 3.5 miles from the LVCC, with taxi and rideshare service readily available.
Visa
Most international visitors to the SEMA Show require either a B-1 business visa or an ESTA (for Visa Waiver Program countries). The SEMA Show is a trade-only event; attendees must be affiliated with the automotive industry. Visa invitation letters can be obtained through the registration system.
Estimated cost: Not yet confirmed
Processing: B-1: varies by consulate, potentially several months; ESTA: usually within 72 hours.
SEMA does not contact embassies on behalf of applicants and is not responsible for visa outcomes. Failure to obtain a visa does not qualify for a registration refund. Invitation letters are generated automatically upon registration and sent via email; printed copies are acceptable. Attendees should apply for visas at least 6 months in advance when possible, as interview wait times at some consular posts can exceed 12 months.

Areas to stay
Strip / Near Las Vegas Convention Center Walking distance or short rideshare to LVCC, monorail access, close to restaurants and entertainment · Downtown Las Vegas More affordable rates, approximately 3-4 miles from LVCC, free parking at select properties · Paradise Road Corridor Close proximity to LVCC with several mid-range and premium options · Westgate / Convention Center Area Direct monorail access and complimentary shuttle service
Get to the venue and around the city with these options.
Airport → venue: Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) is approximately 3.5-5 miles (5.6-8 km) from the Las Vegas Convention Center — roughly 10-18 minutes by taxi or rideshare. Taxi fare is approximately $30 with zone-based flat rates. Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) is widely available. Taxi waits at LAS can exceed 60 minutes on arrival day during SEMA week. Airport shuttle services are also available.
Hotel → venue: Downtown Atlanta and convention-center hotels are typically within walking distance or a short ride-hail/MARTA trip to the venue.
Ride-hail: Uber and Lyft operate throughout Las Vegas. Designated drop-off hubs at LVCC include the Blue Lot (east end of Grand Lobby) and Majestic Lot. Surge pricing during SEMA week typically spikes 3x-5x base fares on show mornings and from 5-7 pm. as the show floor closes. Pre-booking car service is recommended for time-sensitive airport transfers.
Public transit: The Las Vegas Monorail provides direct access to LVCC via Boingo Station. Trains arrive every few minutes at seven stations along the Strip and start at 6:00 AM on show days during SEMA. The RTC Deuce double-decker bus operates 24 hours along the Strip with stops near the Convention Center. RTC buses also serve downtown Las Vegas to LVCC routes.
Parking: Parking during the SEMA Show is very limited. The LVCC campus has approximately 5,500 spaces across Silver Lots 1-5, Gold Lots A-D, and the West Hall Garage, but these fill by 9:00 AM on peak days. Daily fee of $10 includes in/out privileges. ADA-accessible parking available in Gold and Platinum lots. Overnight parking is prohibited on LVCC property. Trailer and rig parking available at Cashman Center and Wild West Truck Plaza ($350 for 1-30 days). SEMA recommends taking alternative transport (Monorail / Taxi / Uber / Lyft / Free Hotel Shuttles).
Weather
Plan and pack for the event climate.
Month: November
Temperature: Daytime highs: 70-74°F (21-23°C) early month, 61-64°F (16-18°C) late month. Nighttime lows: 48-52°F (9-11°C) early month, 42-43°F (5-6°C) late month.
Seasonality: Very dry month. Average of 1-2 days with measurable rainfall (at least 0.01 inches). Rainfall of 0.5 inches or more is rare, occurring about once every 3-4 years. Snow is rare but possible.
Packing: Pack layers for temperature swings between day and night. Long-sleeved tops, sweaters, and a light-to-medium-weight jacket are recommended. Bring comfortable walking shoes—expect to walk 5-7 miles daily on the show floor. Dress codes apply at many casinos, restaurants, and nightclubs. Don't forget sunscreen and a refillable water bottle.

Best overall first-day choice for a visitor: the show floor runs 9:00 a.m:00 p.m., the official Kickoff Breakfast is 7:00-8:45 a.m., education is active, and Battle of the Builders announces its Top 40 at 1:30 p.m. Starting Tuesday also leaves later days for follow-up visits and second meetings.
T-27
Verify trade qualification and complete attendee registration now — Guidance: SEMA Show is trade-only. As of October 7, 2026, the attendee/spouse registration tier is $100 through November 6. Keep qualification documents and badge confirmation ready.
T-27
Lock hotel through the official onPeak block — Guidance: current official-block examples range from $227 to $354 average per night, and the latest SEMA notice says reservations can be modified or cancelled without penalty through October 8; rates remain subject to change.
T-21
Build a hall-by-hall target list — Guidance: group target exhibitors by official 2026 hall sections so you avoid repeated cross-campus walking. Racing & Performance is in Central Hall; tools/collision are in South Upper; wheels/tires are in South Lower; major restyling, truck and powersports sections span West/North.
T-18
Request meetings with priority suppliers, buyers or partners — Guidance: pre-book 6-10 high-value meetings and leave open blocks for product discovery. Do not rely on walk-up availability.
T-14
Choose education sessions that match your business priorities — Guidance: the 2026 education schedule runs November 3-5 and includes SEMA, SCRS, I-CAR and TIA programming; many sessions are free with registration.
T-7
Save the 2026 floor plan and mobile planning tools — Guidance: use the official floor plan to sequence halls, product categories and must-see exhibitors before arrival.
T-3
Confirm transport, badge pickup and daily start points — Guidance: show hours are 9:00 a.m:00 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and 9:00 a.m:00 p.m. Friday. International SEMA exhibitor badges and some badge categories require onsite pickup.
T-1
Prepare a contact-capture and follow-up routine — Guidance: define note tags for product fit, priority, next step and timing so each useful conversation can be acted on within 24-48 hours.

Decision
Visit, exhibit, or skip?
Should you go?
Choose the closest answer for each question. The result favors the path that best matches your market fit, readiness, budget and ability to turn SEMA activity into action.
QUESTION 1 OF 8
How closely does your business fit SEMA's core automotive aftermarket categories?
Decision matrix
Compare participation options side by side to choose the best fit for your objectives.
visit
Choose visit when category fit is strong, you have clear sourcing/learning/meeting goals, and booth visibility is not essential this year.
Best for
Qualified automotive aftermarket professionals who need supplier discovery, category benchmarking, education, product sourcing or targeted meetings without taking booth execution risk.
Min. budget
$1,450.00
Timeline
Plan the route and meetings immediately; a practical visitor plan can still be built in 2-4 weeks for a 2-4 day stay.
Risks
A weak target list can turn the very large multi-hall show into expensive walking rather than useful meetings.
Current travel and hotel costs can outweigh value if only a few relevant companies are on your shortlist.
The event is trade-only, and the attendee registration tier is now $100 through November 6.
exhibit
Choose exhibit when you need product visibility and qualified buyer leads, the booth is already operationally viable, and you can measure meetings, qualified leads and post-show pipeline.
Best for
Aftermarket brands with a ready product/demo, defined buyer segments, pre-show outreach capacity and a team that can qualify and follow up leads quickly.
Min. budget
$5,000.00
Timeline
By October 7, the focus should be final execution: freight, insurance, staffing, scheduled meetings, demos and follow-up workflow.
Risks
Base exhibit space starts at $24.95 per net sq. ft. for SEMA/TIA members or $39.95 for non-members before many booth-service and travel costs.
Advance freight is due to the Freeman warehouse by October 22, subject to change, and direct-show freight must match the assigned target day.
A booth without pre-booked meetings, disciplined qualification and fast follow-up can produce activity without measurable pipeline.
skip
Skip when relevance and urgency are both low enough that targeted outreach, distributor meetings or a later edition is likely to deliver better ROI.
Best for
Companies with weak aftermarket fit, no near-term buying/sales objective, unresolved travel or qualification barriers, or no realistic budget/follow-up owner.
Min. budget
Not yet confirmed
Timeline
Reassess after the 2026 show cycle and begin any 2027 exhibit decision early enough to secure space, logistics and pre-show demand generation.
Risks
You may miss current competitor, product and supplier intelligence.
You lose a concentrated opportunity for face-to-face aftermarket meetings.
Waiting can delay market validation if the automotive aftermarket is becoming strategically important.
