Most business visitors to Spain need either a visa-free short stay or a Schengen visa. EU/EEA and Swiss nationals may travel freely. Many other nationalities (UK, US, Canada, Australia, Japan and others) can enter visa-free for business visits of up to 90 days in any 180-day period, and will need an ETIAS authorisation once the scheme goes live. Nationals of countries without a Schengen exemption agreement must obtain a Schengen Type C short-stay visa in advance from the Spanish consulate covering their place of residence — allow at least 4–6 weeks.
