ProSweets Cologne 2026: Strong final edition before ISM Manufacturing rebrand
ProSweets Cologne 2026 took place from 1 to 4 February 2026 in Cologne and marked the final edition under the ProSweets Cologne name before rebranding to ISM Manufacturing from 2027. As the world's only trade fair focused on the supplier industry for sweets and snacks, it gathered together around 1,790 exhibiting companies from 75 countries together with ISM and the newly established ISM Ingredients. A total of around 32,500 trade visitors from 140 countries attended, with 71% coming from abroad. The proportion of international exhibitors was 85%.
ProSweets Cologne 2026 alone featured around 140 exhibitors from 19 countries with 69% foreign participation. The strongest national participations included Germany, Turkey, Italy and the Netherlands, with group participations from China and Italy also represented. The trade fair was characterised by a compact and focused format with four clearly defined theme worlds: World of Packaging Materials, World of Packaging Technology, World of Production Technology and World of Operating Equipment & Auxiliary Devices.
Content focused on key industry challenges including artificial intelligence, digitalisation, sustainable packaging solutions, increased production efficiency and regulatory requirements including the EU Packaging Regulation (PPWR). Leading machine and plant manufacturers including VEMAG Maschinenbau GmbH, Maschinenfabrik Seydelmann KG, LIVE-TECH s.r.l., Wolf Spezialmaschinen GmbH, SELMI Chocolate Machinery Srl, Rovema GmbH, Kremers Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG and ULMA Packaging presented innovative solutions for high-performance, efficient and future-oriented production and packaging of confectionery and snacks.
Oliver Frese, Managing Director of Koelnmesse GmbH, emphasised: 'The strength of this year's ProSweets Cologne lay above all in its clear focus and the excellent quality of its visitors. The compact structure, high internationality and close proximity to ISM and ISM Ingredients enabled efficient discussions, short distances and concrete business deals along the entire value chain.'
Previous edition: ProSweets Cologne 2025
ProSweets Cologne 2025, held from 2 to 5 February 2025, consolidated its role as the central innovation and business platform for the confectionery and snack industry. The event attracted over 16,000 trade visitors from 85 countries, an increase of 23% compared to the previous year, and 252 exhibitors from 32 countries presented the latest developments in raw materials, packaging, production and technology.
A revised hall concept created clear structures and new theme worlds. Lab5 by ISM was positioned in Hall 10.1 for the first time as an innovation hub. A high-calibre panel discussed the Mercosur trade agreement, with Rupert Schlegelmilch, EU chief negotiator, among the experts. The first-ever Sweet Week Production Summit brought production teams together with suppliers, and the Expert Stage addressed rising raw material prices, the shortage of skilled labour and sustainable packaging solutions. Exhibitor satisfaction was high, with 70% of respondents assessing the trade fair positively overall and 88% would unreservedly recommend it.
Previous edition: ProSweets Cologne 2024
ProSweets Cologne 2024 was staged in Cologne from 28 to 31 January and confirmed its standing as the number one industry meeting point for international suppliers of the sweets and snacks industry.
