The NEC has 16,500 parking spaces. Pre-booked standard parking starts from £13.95 per day; on-the-day parking starts from £18.95. Blue badge parking is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Accessibility

All levels of the NEC are accessible to wheelchair users via lifts and have wheelchair-friendly toilet facilities. The Piazza and Atrium main entrances have automatic doors. Changing Places facilities are available near Hall 20 (Atrium side) and Hall 2 (Piazza side), accessible with a RADAR key. Mobility equipment hire is available: wheelchairs for £5 and scooters for £20 (book online in advance). Hearing loop systems are fitted in various locations.

Prayer rooms

The NEC has a Multi-Faith Prayer Room available for prayer, reflection or meditation. It is located on the Piazza (Halls 1–5) next to the chaplaincy office (by Subway). It has a washing facility, prayer mats, holy books and other resources for prayer.

Cloakroom

Venue cloakrooms can be found adjacent to each hall. Items are charged at £2 per coat and £3 per bag. Cloakrooms are open 30 minutes prior to event opening and close when the event closes. Overnight storage is not possible.

Luggage storage

Cloakroom facilities are available for bags and luggage. Overnight storage is not possible. Additionally, third-party luggage storage services such as Stasher operate nearby (approximately 8-minute walk from the NEC), with storage from £1.49 per bag per day.

Charging points

The NEC offers secure mobile phone charging units in the Piazza and Atrium. Compatible with most major models, charging costs £2.00 for up to 60 minutes and £4.00 for 60+ minutes. Units accept contactless payment only and include Lightning cable, Micro USB and USB Type-C leads.

On-site shuttle

A free shuttle bus service operates between all car parks and the venue during exhibition open days. Services usually start running one hour before the event and stop one hour after the event. Service times and alternative walking routes are available at all bus shelters located near the car parks. Shuttle buses have ramps and room for one wheelchair per trip.

Blue badge parking is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. A bigger and stronger platform

The PPMA Total Show 2025, the 38th edition, was held at the NEC Birmingham from 23–25 September and was hailed by organiser Automate UK as a great success. The event showcased more than 350 exhibitors and 1,500 brands, bringing processing, packaging, machinery, industrial automation and machine vision together under one roof. The standout feature was the newly designed theatres, which hosted the seminar schedule, live demonstrations from the Innovations Eleven exhibitors and keynote speakers. Keynote addresses from Priya Lakhani OBE, former Sainsbury's CEO Mike Coupe and Levi Roots attracted standing-room-only audiences. The Automate UK Awards on the evening of 24 September recognised innovation across processing, packaging, vision and robotics. Scott McKenna, Chief Operating Officer at Automate UK, said the team was 'absolutely delighted at the feedback we've received from exhibitors and visitors alike', adding that the 'calibre of stands created by our exhibitors was superb, resulting in a thriving atmosphere and an environment packed with innovation and inspiration'. Planning for the 2026 edition began on-site, with a significant number of advance bookings taken.

Birmingham and the NEC campus

The NEC is one of the UK's largest exhibition venues, located on a campus that also includes Resorts World Birmingham (shopping, dining and entertainment), The Vox conference centre and Birmingham International railway station. The venue is directly connected to Birmingham Airport via the free AirRail Link. Visitors should allow time to navigate the campus; the PPMA Show takes place in Hall 5.

Trade show etiquette

The PPMA Show is a trade-only event for professionals in the processing and packaging industries. Business dress is standard. Bring business cards for networking. The show is free to attend but registration is required, and visitors should carry photo ID. No one under 16 will be admitted due to live and working machinery.

Networking and hospitality

The event includes a networking reception, and the Automate UK Awards gala dinner is held on the evening of 23 September 2026 at The Vox, Birmingham, with entertainment from Frank Skinner and Heather Small. Whether you need a visa or an ETA to attend the PPMA Show 2026 depends on your nationality.
