Estimated costApprox. INR 30-60 per single journey (smart card or QR ticket)
Best forDelhi Metro Blue Line to Supreme Court station / Pink Line to Pragati Maidan station

Both stations put you within a short auto-rickshaw or walk of the Bharat Mandapam gates. Use the Delhi Metro route planner to pick the closest exit for your hall.

    bus

Estimated costApprox. INR 10-25 per ride (confirm current DTC fare stage)
Best forDTC and cluster bus services across central and south Delhi

Delhi Transport Corporation publishes routes and timetables and the network is dense, but buses are slower and crowded at peak. Best for short hops between hotel clusters and the venue district.

    taxi

Estimated costApprox. INR taxi/rideshare from DEL to venue (estimate; confirm before travel)
Best forIndira Gandhi International (DEL) to Hall 6, Bharat Mandapam

Indira Gandhi International (DEL) is the main commercial gateway serving New Delhi; allow 45-60 min by road or rail to Hall 6, Bharat Mandapam.

    Weather

January is New Delhi's coolest month, with daytime highs near 20-22 C and night lows around 7-8 C. The bigger operational risk is fog: dense morning fog in the first half of January can delay flights into DEL and slow road traffic on the airport expressway. Rain is uncommon, so an umbrella is less important than a warm layer and a mask for the winter air quality. Treat these as climatological bands, not a forecast, and check IMD or a weather app in the week before travel.

    Plan for the climate

    Check temperatures and pack accordingly

    Venue connectivity

India uses 230 V / 50 Hz with type C, D and M plugs, so bring a universal adapter for laptops, consoles and demo gear. Airtel, Jio and Vi sell prepaid tourist SIMs at DEL arrivals against a passport and photo; eSIM plans bought before departure are often simpler. Wi-Fi at Bharat Mandapam is intended for basic use, so exhibitors running Dante, AV-over-IP or streaming demos should arrange a dedicated wired connection, a local hotspot or a 5G router. WhatsApp is the default channel for Indian trade contacts, and UPI is the standard payment method for cabs, food and small purchases.

    Cultural notes

Useful information to help you have a smooth and respectful visit.

    Language and business etiquette

English is the working language of the Indian pro audio and AV trade, and most exhibitors and integrators will happily discuss specifications in English. A handshake or a namaste with palms together both work; exchanging business cards at the start of a meeting is appreciated, and using titles such as Mr or Ms with surnames is a safe default.

    Time and scheduling

New Delhi runs on IST (UTC+5:30). Meetings often start with a few minutes of informal conversation before business, and a scheduled 11:00 slot may be treated flexibly. Confirm important meetings by WhatsApp the day before and keep the first morning of the show lighter to absorb queues at security.

    Dress and show floor

Business casual works on the show floor: collared shirts, chinos and closed shoes. January mornings are cool enough for a jacket or sweater, while air-conditioned halls and demo rooms can be chilly in the afternoon. Comfortable shoes matter given the size of the Bharat Mandapam halls.

    Security and venue entry

Bharat Mandapam is a high-security complex with bag screening and photo ID checks at the gates. Carry your passport or a government photo ID each day, arrive early on the first morning, and avoid bringing large bags or restricted items that will slow screening.

    Food, water and tipping

Bottled water is the safe default, and exhibition halls usually have food courts with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. A 10 percent tip is normal at restaurants, small change is fine for porters and auto-rickshaw drivers, and hotel bills usually include service charge already. Many venues and restaurants are dry or do not serve alcohol openly.

    Air quality and health

Delhi's winter air quality is often poor in January, and many visitors wear an N95 mask outdoors. Carry hand sanitiser, keep any prescribed medication in your hand luggage, and build a buffer day at the end of the trip in case fog disrupts your return flight.

    Practical guides

    Visitor & Exhibitor Essentials

Everything needed to arrive prepared, navigate the event, and make the visit productive.

    Flights

    Destination: DEL

Fly into Indira Gandhi International (DEL), which handles all international arrivals for New Delhi; Terminal 3 is the main gateway. Book to land on 6 January 2027 so you have a buffer before the 7 January opening and can absorb a fog delay, which is common on January mornings. The airport is roughly 15-16 km from Bharat Mandapam, so plan 45-75 minutes by road depending on traffic, or use the Airport Express plus Blue Line if you are travelling light. Domestic connections from Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad are frequent, and fares into Delhi rise around large trade events, so book early.

    Transport

Get to the venue and around the city with these options.

Airport → venue: Primary gateways: Indira Gandhi International (DEL). Allow road or rail time to Bharat Mandapam; on-site parking is usually available at major exhibition venues.

Hotel → venue: Precinct hotels near Bharat Mandapam: Mahipalpur / Delhi Airport corridor: Hotel Mayda Prime By Mayda Hospitality Pvt. Ltd.; Street Number 13 / Delhi Airport corridor: Hotel Decent Suites - Delhi Airport; New Delhi: Hotel Southern, New Delhi.

Ride-hail: Uber, Ola and BluSmart all operate in New Delhi, with dedicated pickup zones at DEL Terminal 3 and drop-off points near the Bharat Mandapam gates. Fares are app-based and rise with demand, so compare the three before confirming and prefer the prepaid taxi counter inside arrivals if you do not have an Indian payment method set up. Save the venue pin and gate number offline, expect vehicle screening at the complex entrance, and avoid hailing from the main road where stopping is restricted.

Public transit: The Delhi Metro is the fastest way to reach the Pragati Maidan area: take the Blue Line to Supreme Court station or the Pink Line to Pragati Maidan station, then walk or take a short auto-rickshaw to the Bharat Mandapam gate. From DEL, the Airport Express (Orange Line) connects Terminal 3 with New Delhi station in about 20 minutes, where you change to the Blue Line. Fares are low, roughly INR 30-110 depending on the journey, and can be paid by smart card or QR ticket. DTC and cluster buses cover the rest of the city at fares of roughly INR 10-25 but are slower in peak hours.

Parking: Bharat Mandapam has on-site parking within the Pragati Maidan complex, with access controlled by the venue rather than the organiser. Charges, height restrictions and the gate used for Hall 6 are set locally, so confirm current rates and the exhibition gate before driving. Vehicles are screened at the entrance, and the approach roads around Pragati Maidan are congested during the morning peak, so allow an extra 20-30 minutes. Ride-hailing drop-offs are usually quicker than self-driving during show hours.

    Weather

Plan and pack for the event climate.

    Month: January 2027

Temperature: Approx. 7-22 C, with night and early-morning lows near 7-8 C and afternoon highs around 20-22 C. Fog can make mornings feel colder and reduce visibility until late morning.

Seasonality: January falls in Delhi's dry winter season, with rain on only a handful of days across the month. The dominant seasonal risk is fog rather than rain: dense morning fog can delay flights into DEL and slow road traffic, especially in the first half of the month.

Packing: Pack layers: a warm jacket or sweater for 7-8 C mornings and air-conditioned exhibition halls, plus lighter shirts for 20-22 C afternoons. Bring comfortable closed shoes for long days on the show floor, an N95 mask for Delhi's winter air quality, a universal power adapter for India's 230 V type C, D and M sockets, and business cards. An umbrella is optional in January; a light scarf is more useful for foggy mornings.

    T-7

    T-10

D-3: Print or download the hotel confirmation, visa, return ticket and a spare set of business cards.

    T-11

D-2: Change a small amount of cash to INR for auto-rickshaws and tips; cards and UPI work in most hotels and restaurants.

    T-12

D-1: Check your flight status for fog delays, since January mornings at DEL are frequently affected.

    T-13

D-1: Charge power banks and pack an India plug adapter (type C, D or M, 230 V).

    T-14

    Answers

    Frequently asked

What are the dates and venue for PALM Expo Delhi 2027?
The show runs 7-9 January 2027 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, in Hall 6. Hall assignments, gate numbers and opening hours are published by the organiser at palmexpodelhi.com, so check the site close to your travel date before fixing your arrival time.
    Who attends PALM Expo Delhi?
The audience is built around the professional audio, lighting, AV and entertainment technology trade: system integrators, rental and touring production houses, live sound and lighting engineers, AV consultants, studio and broadcast engineers, DJs and musicians, distributors and venue operators from across India and neighbouring markets.
Is PALM Expo Delhi a trade-only event or can the public attend?
It is positioned as a B2B exhibition for the professional audio, lighting and AV trades. Visitor eligibility, any student sessions and public timings are set by the organiser, so confirm the registration criteria on palmexpodelhi.com before booking travel.
How do I register as a visitor for PALM Expo Delhi 2027?
Use the visitor registration link on palmexpodelhi.com. Registration typically asks for your company name, job role and business email, and you should carry a photo ID to match the badge at the venue. Keep the confirmation on your phone as a backup to any printed badge.
What product categories are exhibited at PALM Expo Delhi?
Expect line arrays and loudspeakers, amplifiers and DSP, digital consoles, microphones and wireless, stage and architectural lighting, LED video walls and projection, truss and rigging, conference and AV integration systems, DJ and studio equipment, plus cables, racks and power distribution.
Is there a seminar, demo or conference programme at PALM Expo Delhi?
The organiser maintains a schedule page at palmexpodelhi.com/schedule. Use it to check demo times, conference sessions and any workshop slots, then block those hours before you fill your day with exhibitor meetings.
How do I get from Indira Gandhi International Airport to Bharat Mandapam?
DEL is roughly 15-16 km from Pragati Maidan. An app cab or prepaid taxi takes about 30-45 minutes off-peak and 60-75 minutes in peak traffic, roughly INR 450-800. The Airport Express runs to New Delhi station in about 20 minutes, with a Blue Line change to Supreme Court station near the venue.
Where should I stay for PALM Expo Delhi?
The Mahipalpur and Aerocity clusters near DEL suit early flights and are about 30-50 minutes from Bharat Mandapam. Central Delhi around Connaught Place and Karol Bagh is closer to the venue, roughly 20-35 minutes by road, and puts restaurants and metro lines within walking distance.
Is parking available at Bharat Mandapam?
The Bharat Mandapam complex has parking, with access and charges managed by the venue rather than the organiser. Confirm current rates and the correct exhibition gate before driving, and allow extra time for vehicle screening at the entrance.
What is the weather like in New Delhi in January?
January is Delhi's coolest month, with daytime highs near 20-22 C and night lows around 7-8 C. Dense morning fog in the first half of the month can delay flights and slow road traffic, and rain is uncommon. Pack layers and check the forecast in the week before travel.
Do I need a visa to attend PALM Expo Delhi from abroad?
Most foreign visitors need an Indian visa; India's e-Visa system covers business travel for many nationalities via indianvisaonline.gov.in. Apply well ahead of departure, check eligibility for your passport, and carry a printed copy of the visa along with your return ticket and hotel booking.
Can exhibitors bring demo equipment into India for the show?
Yes, but plan the customs route early. ATA Carnet or a temporary import procedure is normally used for demonstration equipment, and RF gear such as wireless microphones may need spectrum coordination. Confirm the current paperwork with your freight forwarder and the organiser's operations team.

    Glossary

    1
    Line array
A vertical stack of identical loudspeaker modules with tightly controlled horizontal dispersion and adjustable vertical splay between boxes, used to throw even coverage to the back of large halls, arenas and outdoor stages. The number of modules and the splay angles are set by the room size and the target SPL.
    2
    Point-source loudspeaker
A single-box loudspeaker radiating sound from one acoustic origin. Point sources are the usual choice for front fills, delays, stage monitors and smaller rooms where a line array would be oversized or harder to aim.
    3
    Digital mixing console
A console that processes audio in the digital domain, with recallable scenes, onboard dynamics and EQ on most channels, and often a Dante or MADI card for connecting stage boxes, broadcast trucks and recording rigs.
    4
    Dante
Audinate's audio-over-IP protocol that carries many channels of digital audio over standard Ethernet. At a trade fair it is how consoles, amplifiers, stage boxes and processors from different brands are demonstrated on one network.
    5
    AES67
An interoperability standard for audio-over-IP that lets Dante, Ravenna, Q-LAN and similar networks exchange streams. Useful when a venue's installed network and a visiting production rig have to talk to each other.
    6
    DMX512
The RS-485 based control protocol used for dimmers, moving heads and LED fixtures, sent in universes of 512 channels. Console channel counts and fixture personalities are quoted in DMX universes on most show floors.
    7
    Moving head fixture
A motorised lighting fixture that pans, tilts, zooms and changes colour, gobo or prism under DMX control. Beam, spot and wash variants are judged on output, zoom range, colour mixing and noise level for studio use.
    8
    Fine-pitch LED wall
A video display built from tiled LED modules, where pitch is the distance in millimetres between pixels. Roughly 1.5 mm to 2.5 mm pitch is used for corporate stages, studios and close-viewing environments; larger pitches suit outdoor and long-throw applications.
    9
    Truss and rigging
Aluminium box, ladder or triangular truss, plus hoists, spansets and shackles, used to hang lighting and audio. Certified load ratings, venue rigging points and a documented load calculation are required before anything goes up.
    10
    Class D amplifier
A switch-mode amplifier topology with high efficiency and low heat output, now standard in touring amp racks and in installed 70V or 100V distributed line systems for hotels, malls and campuses.
    11
    SPL
Sound pressure level, measured in decibels. Venue licences and event permits often set a maximum SPL at the mix position or at the site boundary, which is why demo rooms at the show are usually level-controlled.

    Wireless frequency coordination
Planning the RF frequencies used by wireless microphones and in-ear monitors so channels do not intermodulate or collide. In India, spectrum use and licensing rules apply, so coordinate before shipping RF gear.
    13
    IP rating

    Immersive audio
Object-based or spatial formats such as Dolby Atmos and d&b Soundscape that place sound around and above the audience. Venue demos usually pair an immersive processor with a multi-speaker layout and a media server.
    15
    Acoustic treatment
Absorbers, diffusers and bass traps used to control reflections and reverberation time in studios, auditoriums, conference rooms and home theatres. It is usually specified alongside the loudspeaker and amplifier choice, not after it.
