The Netherlands is in the Schengen area. Nationals of most EU/EEA countries and of Schengen visa-exempt countries (e.g. USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, UAE) can enter visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period, usually without paid work. Nationals of countries without a Schengen visa-waiver agreement need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before travelling — apply via VFS Global/Netherlands embassy at least 3–4 weeks ahead. Visa-exempt travellers will additionally need an ETIAS authorisation once the EU system goes live (expected from late 2026; not yet mandatory as of writing). Carry a passport valid 3+ months beyond departure, proof of accommodation and an invitation or trade-fair registration letter, and be ready to show onward travel. ATA Carnets are accepted in the Netherlands for temporary import of exhibition goods.
Estimated cost: Varies by visa type and nationality (check official site).
Processing: Varies by nationality; apply several weeks before travel.
