    Local transport

Get around the city with these convenient transport options.

    metro

Estimated costApprox. INR 60-110 one way (estimate; confirm the current DMRC Airport Express fare)
Best forAirport Express (Orange Line), IGI Terminal 3 to New Delhi station

The fastest rail link out of the airport, roughly 20 minutes to New Delhi station with city check-in at some stations. From New Delhi take the Yellow or Blue Line onward towards Dwarka for the venue district.

    metro

Estimated costApprox. INR 20-50 one way depending on distance (estimate; confirm at the DMRC fare counter)
Best forBlue Line towards Dwarka Sector 21 and the Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25 area

The Blue Line is the workhorse route between central Delhi and the Dwarka fairground district. Use a DMRC smart card or QR ticket, allow 50-70 minutes from Rajiv Chowk, and check the last train time before evening events.

    taxi

Estimated costApprox. INR 500-800 per trip (estimate; confirm the fixed prepaid slip amount before paying)
Best forIGI Airport (T3) prepaid taxi counter to Dwarka and Yashobhoomi (IICC)

Prepaid counters inside the arrivals hall issue a fixed-fare slip for the airport-to-Dwarka run. Keep the slip, use the assigned bay and avoid unmarked touts offering rides inside the terminal.

    ride-hail

Estimated costApprox. INR 350-650 per trip in the Dwarka and airport corridor (estimate; confirm the app quote before confirming the ride)
Best forApp cab (Uber, Ola or BluSmart) between the airport, Dwarka hotels and the venue

App pick-up points at DEL are on a designated level of the multi-storey car park, not at the kerbside. BluSmart operates an all-electric fleet in Delhi; surge pricing applies during the morning and evening peaks.

    auto-rickshaw

Estimated costApprox. INR 40-120 per short trip (estimate; agree the fare or insist on the meter)
Best forShort hops between Dwarka metro stations, hotels and the venue gate

Auto-rickshaws are the cheapest last-mile option around Dwarka but are not practical from the airport with luggage. Prepaid or app-based autos avoid haggling.

    bus

Estimated costApprox. INR 10-30 per single ride (estimate; confirm the current DTC fare stage)
Best forDTC and cluster city buses on Dwarka corridor routes

DTC buses connect Dwarka sectors, the airport corridor and central Delhi termini. They are cheap but slow in peak traffic and carry limited luggage space, so they are better for local sector-to-sector hops than for arrival day.

    parking

Estimated costApprox. INR 100-300 per day for cars (estimate; confirm the venue tariff and pre-booking process)
Best forPrivate vehicle parking at Yashobhoomi (IICC), Dwarka

The IICC campus has structured parking with a large capacity, but trade fair days fill early. Arrive before the 10:00 opening peak and confirm the exhibitor parking pass process with the organiser.

    taxi

Estimated costApprox. INR taxi/rideshare from DEL to venue (estimate; confirm before travel)
Best forIndira Gandhi International (DEL) to Yashobhoomi (IICC), Dwarka

Indira Gandhi International (DEL) is the main commercial gateway serving New Delhi; allow 45-60 min by road or rail to Yashobhoomi (IICC), Dwarka.

    Weather

Mid-December is Delhi's cool dry winter: expect afternoon highs around 20-23C, night and early-morning lows near 7-10C, and low humidity. Rain is uncommon, so the practical risks are cold mornings, dense fog that can delay early road transfers or flights, and poor air quality on still days. Keep a light jacket for evening transfers, plan arrival-day meetings after 11:00 and allow slack in the airport run. Confirm the forecast for the show week before travel.

    Plan for the climate

    Check temperatures and pack accordingly

    Venue connectivity

Delhi has broad 4G and 5G coverage from Airtel, Jio and Vi, including the Dwarka and airport corridors and the exhibition campus. Short-term tourists can buy a prepaid SIM at the airport arrivals counters with a passport and photo, or use an eSIM bought before departure, which avoids the counter queue. Confirm roaming charges with your home operator if you plan to tether. Venue and hotel Wi-Fi is normally available but should not be relied on for live product demos or large uploads. Power is 230V at 50Hz with type C, D and M sockets, so bring a universal adapter and a surge-protected strip for demo hardware. Indian GST invoices for hotel and travel spend are normally issued on request.

    Ride-hailing

    Taxis

    Public transit

    Car rentals

    Cultural notes

Useful information to help you have a smooth and respectful visit.

    Language at the fair

Hindi is the everyday language of Delhi and English is widely used in business, on signage and in technical documentation. Product datasheets, photometric files and quotations are almost always in English, so technical discussions on the show floor should run smoothly; a few Hindi greetings help with local transport and retail.

    Business etiquette

Handshakes are common in corporate settings, and exchanging business cards at the start of a meeting is standard. Building a relationship before price negotiation is normal in Indian lighting distribution, and decisions often involve several colleagues, so allow for a second meeting rather than expecting a signature on day one.

    Dress and hall conditions

Smart casual or business attire is appropriate. Halls are air-conditioned but December mornings and evenings outside are cold, so a jacket that works indoors and outdoors is the practical choice; comfortable shoes matter more than formality over three days of concrete floors.

    Security screening

Expect bag scanning at Metro stations, hotels, malls and the exhibition campus, with separate lanes for men and women at some entrances. Carry photo ID, arrive a little earlier than you think necessary on day one, and avoid packing liquids or tools in your show bag.

    Payments and tipping

The rupee is the only accepted currency for most transactions. Cards work in hotels and larger restaurants, and UPI QR payment is near-universal, but keep small cash for autos, tips and porterage. Ten percent at restaurants is normal where service charge is not already included, and INR 50-100 for hotel or airport porterage is reasonable.

    Food, water and air

Drink sealed bottled or filtered water rather than tap water, and choose freshly cooked food while you adjust to local conditions. December air quality in Delhi can be poor on still days, so sensitive visitors may want to carry a mask for outdoor transfers, and the dry air indoors makes moisturiser and lip balm genuinely useful.

    Traffic and timing

Delhi traffic is heavy between roughly 08:30-10:30 and 17:00-20:00, and winter morning fog can add further delay. Build 30-45 minutes of slack into airport runs and cross-city meetings, and treat the Metro as the reliable option when a road journey looks tight.

    Practical guides

    Visitor & Exhibitor Essentials

Everything needed to arrive prepared, navigate the event, and make the visit productive.

    Flights

    Destination: DEL

Indira Gandhi International (DEL) is the international gateway for the show, with Terminal 3 handling most long-haul arrivals and T1 and T2 covering domestic traffic. Aim to land on 16 December 2026 so the first show morning on the 17th is unhurried, and book before mid-November because 17-19 December falls inside the pre-holiday travel window when fares and seat availability tighten. Winter morning fog can delay early arrivals and departures in December, so avoid a tight same-day connection and consider a mid-morning departure when leaving. Confirm the terminal, baggage allowance and any separate domestic connection directly with the airline; if you are connecting through another Indian city, allow at least three hours for the transfer.

    Transport

Get to the venue and around the city with these options.

Airport → venue: Primary gateways: Indira Gandhi International (DEL). Allow road or rail time to Yashobhoomi (IICC), Dwarka; on-site parking is usually available at major exhibition venues.

Hotel → venue: Precinct hotels near Yashobhoomi (IICC), Dwarka: Dwarka, New Delhi: Dwarka 3-star business hotel cluster (Sectors 10-13); Dwarka Sector 13, New Delhi: Radisson Blu Hotel New Delhi Dwarka; Dwarka Sector 10, New Delhi: Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, Dwarka.

Ride-hail: Uber, Ola and the all-electric BluSmart fleet all operate in Delhi, and Rapido covers two-wheeler and auto rides. At Indira Gandhi International, app pick-ups are assigned to a designated zone, usually a level of the multi-storey car park rather than the arrivals kerbside, so follow the in-app walking directions and the airport signage. For the airport to Dwarka and Aerocity runs, budget roughly INR 350-650 and confirm the app quote before accepting; surge pricing is common in the morning and evening peaks. Set your pick-up pin at the hotel main gate or the venue's designated cab bay rather than a road junction, and keep a small cash reserve in case a driver prefers it. If you land after midnight, pre-book rather than relying on live availability.

Public transit: Delhi Metro (DMRC) is the backbone of visitor transport, with the Airport Express (Orange Line) linking Terminal 3 to New Delhi station in about 20 minutes and the Blue Line running from central Delhi out towards Dwarka Sector 21 and the Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25 area. Fares are distance-based, roughly INR 10-60 for ordinary journeys and around INR 60-110 on the Airport Express, payable by QR ticket or a stored-value DMRC card. Trains run from early morning to around 23:00, with the last services earlier on some lines, so check the DMRC site for the current timetable and any planned maintenance before an evening return. DTC and cluster buses fill gaps on Dwarka sector routes at very low fares but are slower and not luggage-friendly. Stations and trains have security screening, and some carriages are reserved for women.

Parking: Yashobhoomi (IICC) has a large structured parking provision on the Dwarka campus, with separate arrangements for cars, taxis and buses. Trade fair days fill the closest bays before the 10:00 opening peak, so arrive early or use the Metro and a short auto hop as a fallback. Expect roughly INR 100-300 per day for a car, confirm the current venue tariff and whether exhibitor passes are issued by the organiser, and check the designated gate for your hall to avoid a long walk with samples or stand materials.

    Weather

Plan and pack for the event climate.

Month: December 2026 (show dates 17-19 December), New Delhi

Temperature: Daytime highs typically around 20-23C, night and early-morning lows around 7-10C. Halls are air-conditioned and can feel cool, while the outdoor walk between the parking, gates and halls is brisk in the morning and after sunset. Expect dry air with low humidity and a wide swing between afternoon and evening temperatures.

Seasonality: Mid-December sits in Delhi's cool dry winter window, so significant rain is uncommon and monsoon conditions are long over. The season's real influences are overnight cold, dry indoor air and winter fog, which can reduce visibility on early road transfers and occasionally disrupt flight schedules. Air quality can deteriorate on still winter days, which is worth planning for if you have respiratory sensitivity.

Packing: Pack light layers rather than one heavy coat: a shirt or blouse for the halls, a warm jacket or shawl for morning and evening transfers, and comfortable closed shoes for long days on concrete floors. Add moisturiser, lip balm and eye drops for dry winter air and air-conditioned halls, a scarf for early starts, and a mask if you are sensitive to winter air quality. Bring a universal power adapter for 230V type C, D and M sockets, a spare battery pack for lead capture on the floor, and a compact umbrella only as cheap insurance rather than an expectation of rain.

    Plan your trip

    Planning

Best day to visit: Day 2 (mid-show)

Mid-show days at LED Expo New Delhi usually combine full exhibitor attendance with scheduled B2B meetings, before early pack-down on the final day.

    T-1

Confirm your registration status for LED Expo — Complete the trade visitor registration on theledexpo.com and keep the confirmation or badge QR code in your phone wallet as well as printed. If you plan to bring colleagues, register them under the same company so the group is handled together at the counter.

    T-2

Build a target exhibitor shortlist by product family — Split the floor into what you actually buy: LED chips and modules, drivers and control gear, luminaires, street and outdoor lighting, architectural and stage fixtures, testing equipment. Two or three named targets per family keeps a three-day show realistic.

    T-3

Fix your Delhi travel dates and hotel — 17-19 December 2026 sits in the pre-holiday travel window, so book flights and rooms before the second week of December. If you are staying in Dwarka or Aerocity the venue transfer is short; central Delhi hotels add 45-75 minutes each way in peak traffic.

    T-4

Check visa or e-Visa status for every traveller — International visitors should hold a valid Indian visa or approved e-Visa before booking non-refundable tickets. Print the approval and carry it with the passport; the electronic copy alone is not always enough at the immigration counter.

    T-5

Set the questions you will ask each supplier — For LED sourcing, prepare a fixed scorecard: lumen output and efficacy, CCT and CRI bins, driver brand and dimming protocol, IP rating, warranty and L70 figure, BIS registration status, MOQ and lead time. Comparable answers across booths save hours of follow-up.

    T-6

Book airport transfer and local transport — Decide between the Airport Express and a prepaid taxi or app cab for the DEL to Dwarka leg. Install a ride-hailing app before departure and add an international card or UPI-enabled wallet so you are not hunting for cash at arrivals.

    T-7

Download hall plans and the exhibitor directory — Print the floor plan and mark a walking order that minimises crossing between halls. Check whether any conference sessions or product launches need a separate seat booking.

    T-8

Prepare a buyer file and sample requests — Carry your company profile, GST or import documentation and any technical specifications you are sourcing against. If you want samples shipped, ask for the exporter's paperwork requirements at the booth rather than after the show.

    T-9

Pack for dry Delhi winter days — Expect comfortable afternoons around 20-23C and cold mornings near 7-10C, plus dry air inside exhibition halls. Bring layers, comfortable shoes for concrete floors, a light jacket for evening transfers and lip balm or moisturiser.

    T-10

Reconfirm badge, hotel and transfer details — Re-check the organiser site for gate opening times, permitted items and any change of hall or entry gate. Save the venue address and a map pin for Yashobhoomi (IICC), Dwarka for drivers who may not know the fairground.

    T-11

Arrive in Delhi and reset the clock — Landing on 16 December gives an unhurried first show morning. Winter morning fog can slow road transfers, so keep the first appointment after 11:00 on day one.

    T-12

Work the halls in two passes — Use the first pass for a fast sweep of new suppliers and the second for detailed meetings and price discussions. Note booth numbers and take a photo of each business card with the product it relates to.

    T-13

Send follow-ups while the show is fresh — Request quotations, LM-80 or test reports, BIS or certification documents and sample dispatch dates within three days. Suppliers are still processing leads and the response rate drops sharply after the first fortnight.

    Glossary

    1
    LED (light emitting diode)
A semiconductor light source that emits light when current flows through it. At LED Expo the term covers the packaged component itself, from single emitters to multi-chip arrays, before it is built into a lamp or luminaire.
    2
    Luminaire
The complete finished lighting fitting: housing, optics, LED module, driver, thermal system and mounting hardware. Luminaire makers are the largest exhibitor group at a lighting trade fair, and buyers compare them on output, glare control and finish.
    3
    LED driver
The power supply that converts mains AC into the constant current an LED module needs. Driver quality drives flicker, dimming compatibility and lifetime, so drivers are usually shown as a separate product family alongside control gear.
    4
    Luminous efficacy (lm/W)
Lumens of light output per watt of power drawn. It is the headline efficiency number buyers use to compare modules, lamps and luminaires, and it is set against Indian BEE labelling thresholds for many lamp types.
    5
    CCT (correlated colour temperature)
Expressed in kelvin, this describes how warm or cool white light appears: roughly 2700K-3000K warm, 4000K neutral, 5700K-6500K cool daylight. Indian commercial projects often specify 4000K and 6500K, while hospitality work leans to 2700K-3000K.
    6
    CRI (colour rendering index)
A 0-100 score for how faithfully a light source shows colours against a reference. Retail, textile and museum buyers push for CRI 90 and above; TM-30 is the newer two-number alternative some suppliers now quote.
    7
    IP rating
Ingress protection code such as IP65 or IP67, covering dust and water resistance. It matters most for outdoor, facade, street and industrial fittings, and for Indian monsoon exposure it is one of the first specifications buyers check.

    SMD and COB
Two packaging formats for LED chips. SMD (surface mount device) emitters dominate linear and panel lighting; COB (chip on board) arrays concentrate high output in a small area and are common in spotlights, track heads and downlights.
    9
    Thermal management and heat sink
The mechanical path that carries heat away from the LED junction. Poor thermal design shortens life and shifts colour, so heat sinks, extruded aluminium bodies and thermal interface materials appear as both components and finished-product features.
    10
    L70 lifetime and lumen maintenance
The hours of operation after which a product retains 70 percent of its initial light output. Suppliers quote L70 or L80 figures from LM-80 test data, and specifiers use them for warranty and maintenance planning.
    11
    Flicker, THD and power factor
Electrical quality metrics for drivers and lamps. Low flicker matters for video and retail environments, while power factor and total harmonic distortion are checked by utilities and by large commercial specifiers.
    12
    DALI and DALI-2
A digital addressable lighting control protocol used for dimming, scene setting and reporting. DALI-2 adds certification and testing of control devices, and it is usually demonstrated alongside sensors and gateways on the controls side of the hall.
    13
    Zhaga
An industry consortium defining interchangeable mechanical and electrical interfaces for LED modules, drivers and sensor connections. Zhaga compliance is a buying argument when a project needs replaceable, multi-vendor components.
    14
    SSL (solid state lighting)
The umbrella term for lighting built from LEDs and their control electronics, as opposed to incandescent, halogen or discharge sources. It appears in product literature and in standards language rather than on shop shelves.
    15
BIS CRS registration and BEE star labelling
India's compliance stack for lighting. Self-ballasted LED lamps and several other products fall under BIS compulsory registration, while BEE star labelling applies to specified lamp and luminaire categories; both are routine questions for anyone importing into or manufacturing in India.
    16
    Smart lighting and IoT controls
Lighting linked to sensors, gateways and software for occupancy, daylight harvesting, scheduling and energy reporting. It shows up at the fair as fixtures with integrated drivers plus separate sensor and control ecosystems.
    17
    Secondary optics
Lenses, reflectors and diffusers that shape the beam after the LED emits. They set beam angle, glare (UGR) and light distribution, and are often exhibited as an independent component category by optics suppliers.
    18
    Architectural and stage lighting
The project-lighting side of the sector: facade and landscape wash, track and accent spotlights, DMX-controlled stage fixtures. Buyers here are lighting designers, system integrators and rental houses rather than retail distributors.
