Edition recap
The 2025 Harrogate International Nursery Fair ran from 12 to 14 October 2025 at the Harrogate Convention Centre, the UK's only dedicated nursery trade event. The doors closed on Tuesday 14 October, with organisers and exhibitors describing a resoundingly positive edition built on quality over quantity: a more streamlined floor plan delivered what many exhibitors called their best year yet for serious buyer meetings.
Debbie Grant of Cheeky Rascals said that despite the show being smaller, the team likely had its best year yet in terms of quality meetings with serious buyers. Nick Paxton of Silver Cross reported a full appointment diary and that every significant player expected showed, with organisation 'less intrusive than previous years'. First-time exhibitors were equally positive: Corinna Links of German brand Kindsgut praised the professionalism and curation, and Emma Bishop of Little Paws, Big Memories confirmed they would return.
Show organiser Adrian Sneyd acknowledged a difficult year for the UK nursery industry but highlighted how the trade pulls together to support the show, and confirmed the next edition would run 18-20 October 2026 at the same venue, with priority booking opening in December. The 2025 show is also notable for over 40 new or returning exhibitors confirmed for 2026 and for the strength of rebooking among larger brands.
New this edition
1
New Brands Zone (Hall C)
Dedicated New Brands Zone debuting at the 2026 edition in Hall C, aimed at start-ups and smaller companies. Turnkey package from £885 includes a 2m x 2m stand area, carpet, full shell-scheme walling with a 1m divisional wall, illuminated fascia nameboard, choice of 1m full-height graphic panel or 1m slat wall, front counter cupboard with custom graphic and a stool; optional power socket and connection (£145) and 1.5m LED lighting batten (£45)
The October mid-week format introduced in recent editions (Sunday to Tuesday) is now the established slot, retained for 2026 and 2027; organiser cites strong turnout of quality buyers across the past two October editions
Despite the show being smaller this year, we likely had our best year yet in terms of quality meetings with serious buyers. Harrogate continues to be an invaluable opportunity to connect with both current and prospective partners
“

Impact
A bigger and stronger platform
The 2025 edition of Harrogate International Nursery Fair closed on 14 October 2025, marking another successful chapter for the UK's only nursery trade event. While the show featured a more streamlined floor plan, the atmosphere throughout the Harrogate Convention Centre reflected a clear theme of quality over quantity. Exhibitors reported meaningful conversations, valuable connections, and genuine commercial outcomes. Show organiser Adrian Sneyd noted it had been a difficult year for the UK nursery industry, but the fair demonstrated how businesses pull together to support each other and the only UK nursery trade event
Audience quality
High-value decision-makers
Exhibitor feedback from the 2025 edition pointed to a resoundingly positive experience, with many praising the show's strong focus on quality interactions and productive business opportunities. Debbie Grant of Cheeky Rascals commented that despite the show being smaller, it was possibly their best year yet in terms of quality meetings with serious buyers. Nick Paxton of Silver Cross said they ran a full diary and every significant player they expected showed. First-time exhibitor Corinna Links of German brand Kindsgut praised the high quality of exhibitors on site and the overall curation, noting there was no overload, just well-selected, inspiring brands
Exhibitor outcomes
Real business growth

Nick Paxton of Silver Cross confirmed a full diary and that every significant player they expected attended, while first-time exhibitors such as Kindsgut and Little Paws, Big Memories reported a positive experience with good connections to retailers. United Kingdom and Europe
Why it matters
Harrogate International Nursery Fair is the UK's only dedicated nursery trade show and remains the preferred buying destination for UK retailers while attracting influential buyers from Europe and beyond. For retailers, it is the single annual opportunity to see the majority of their favourite suppliers under one roof, discover new brands and emerging product categories, and place orders ahead of the season at exclusive show offers. For exhibitors, it provides direct access to key decision-makers actively seeking newness and innovation, with a unique October timing that supports end-of-year planning and new-season launches. The 2026 edition introduces the New Brands Zone for start-ups and the Progressive Preschool Forum for education and networking, reinforcing the show's role as a comprehensive business and knowledge platform. The UK baby care products market is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 4.2% to reach USD 6.4 billion by 2031, and the nursery sector's continued consolidation and investment in innovation make Harrogate an essential touchpoint for staying competitive. With the UK's birth rate at historic lows, brands are focusing on premiumisation, product differentiation and value-added features to drive revenue, making trade shows like Harrogate critical for demonstrating innovation and building retailer relationships
Industry trends
Key trends shaping this market and its wider industry.
01
Cabin-Fold Pushchairs and Travel System Integration
Compact folding pushchairs designed to meet airline hand-luggage requirements are set to become the next essential item in 2026. Brands are developing cabin-fold models that connect seamlessly with infant car seats, eliminating fiddly adapters and offering better suspension, stronger wheels and more storage for everyday performance as well as travel. This trend reflects parents' increasing demand for convenience and versatility in baby transport products
Parents are increasingly seeking products that grow and adapt with their child. Convertible furniture such as cribs that turn into toddler beds, dressers with built-in changing tables and modular storage are becoming hugely popular. Reversible bedding, adjustable sleep bags and multi-use changing mats that double as playtime cushions reflect this shift toward long-lasting, multi-purpose products that offer better value for money
Nursery design is moving toward softer, more grown-up colour directions. According to the 2026 Pinterest Palette, bold primaries and sugary pastels are making way for soft earth tones, warm neutrals, gentle greens, muted terracottas and relaxed inky blues and greys that sit beautifully with natural woods and soft fabrics. This shift reflects a broader consumer preference for calm, sophisticated aesthetics in nursery decor
Over 70% of UK parents in surveys express willingness to pay more for eco-friendly baby products, yet there remains a gap between demand and available supply of certified organic or fully biodegradable sleep sacks, nappies and other essentials. The UK Green Claims Code and potential restrictions on single-use plastic are adding regulatory momentum to sustainable product development. Manufacturers are responding with biodegradable and reusable solutions, particularly in diapers and wipes categories
The baby and toddler products industry is increasingly embracing artificial intelligence and smart technology. Products such as medically-certified monitoring devices for baby sleep and well-being, and advanced car seats with smart safety features, reflect growing consumer interest in tech-enabled reassurance. Kind + Jugend 2026 has adopted 'Growing with AI' as its key theme, addressing how AI is transforming business models, product development and retail processes across the sector
The UK baby care products market is undergoing a structural shift from volume-driven growth toward value-led expansion. Parents are increasingly prioritizing high-quality, safe, and health-oriented products, driving demand for organic baby food, hypoallergenic skincare, and technologically advanced safety equipment. Despite inflationary pressures, parents continue to prioritize expenditure on baby care, supporting value growth even in a low-volume environment
European Nursery and Baby Products Trade Show Circuit 2026
Book travel and accommodation 3 to 6 months in advance for international events. For Harrogate, priority booking for returning exhibitors closes in late January, with new bookings opening in early February
The European nursery and baby products trade show circuit spans key markets in the UK, Germany and France, with Harrogate serving as the UK's only dedicated nursery trade event. The circuit includes international flagship events like Kind + Jugend in Cologne, which draws around 700 exhibitors from over 40 countries, alongside regional buying events and consumer-facing shows. For UK retailers and brands, Harrogate is the domestic anchor, while Kind + Jugend provides the primary international export platform. Playtime Paris offers a fashion-forward alternative focused on children's lifestyle and apparel. The timing of these events allows brands to plan a coherent annual calendar: Playtime Paris in January and June, The Baby Show London in March, The Baby Show Birmingham in May, Nursery World Show in May, Playtime Paris in June, INDX National Kidswear Show in July, The Baby & Toddler Show Manchester in September, Kind + Jugend in September, and Harrogate in October. This sequence enables buyers to evaluate product ranges across multiple markets and touchpoints throughout the year

Smart Casual Dress Code
Harrogate is an elegant spa town and smart casual works well. Blazers and jackets are never out of place. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended as the town centre is compact and largely walkable. The venue is a trade show, so business attire is appropriate
Trade-Only Professional Environment
The event is trade-only and free for verified trade visitors. The show maintains a professional buying environment with badge colour categories for buyers, press, manufacturers and PR/marketing. The organisers are committed to keeping out non-trade visitors to ensure a productive business atmosphere
Yorkshire Hospitality and Networking Culture
Harrogate International Nursery Fair is known for its friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Exhibitors across the halls host drinks and canapés, and the Sunday after-show party is a highlight of the industry calendar. The show's 'Stay & Play' extended opening hours until 8pm on the Sunday evening encourage relaxed networking. Harrogate has a rich spa heritage, and visitors can enjoy the Victorian Turkish Baths, Royal Pump Room Museum and Valley Gardens during downtime
Punctuality and Queuing Etiquette
In the UK, punctuality is appreciated and queuing is customary and respected. When attending seminars or meetings, arrive a few minutes early. At bars and cafes, wait your turn in the queue. Tipping is not mandatory but 10-15% is appreciated for table service at restaurants. A simple 'please' and 'thank you' goes a long way in maintaining the friendly atmosphere Harrogate is known for

Flights
Destination: Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA)
Leeds Bradford Airport is the closest airport at 12 miles from the venue. Direct flights are available from Paris (1h 30m), Amsterdam (1h 10m) and Dublin (1h). For long-haul travellers, connections through Amsterdam Schiphol are recommended. Alternatively, Manchester Airport offers extensive international connections with direct rail links to Harrogate via Leeds. London Heathrow to Leeds Bradford flights are available for around £80 return. Four daily direct LNER trains run from London King's Cross to Harrogate in 2 hours 46 minutes. Book flights and trains early as the show period is busy
Visa
Entry requirements for the UK depend on nationality. Citizens of approximately 85 visa-exempt countries can enter without a visa but must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before travel. Citizens of all other countries must apply for a Standard Visitor visa before travelling. Both routes permit attending trade fairs for promotional work only, provided the visitor is not directly selling. The Standard Visitor visa costs £135 and permits stays of up to six months. The ETA costs £20 and is valid for two years with multiple entries, each stay up to six months. British and Irish citizens do not need a visa or ETA
Processing: Standard Visitor visa: most applications decided within 3 weeks (15 working days). ETA: most approved within minutes to 72 hours
The Standard Visitor visa permits attending trade fairs for promotional work only (not direct selling), attending meetings, conferences and seminars, and negotiating and signing deals and contracts. The ETA permits attending business meetings, conferences and interviews, but does not permit work for a UK employer or starting a business. Both routes require you to satisfy the Home Office that you are a genuine visitor who will leave the UK at the end of your visit. Visa nationals who hold a visitor visa do not need a separate ETA. Always confirm current fees and requirements on gov.uk before applying

Risks
Trade-only entry — non-trade visitors will be refused entry
Limited accommodation availability if booked late — Harrogate fills up during show periods
Some exhibitors may be fully booked with appointments by the time you arrive
exhibit
You have a product range ready for the UK market, a budget of at least £885 for a basic package (or £168 per sqm for space-only), and the ability to commit 3 to 6 months ahead. The show attracts over 90% trade buyers and is the UK's only dedicated nursery trade event
Best for
Baby and nursery product brands, manufacturers, distributors, and start-ups seeking direct access to UK retailers, international buyers, and industry decision-makers. Ideal for brands launching new products or seeking distribution partners in the UK market
Min. budget
$885.00
Timeline
T-90 for stand booking and design; T-60 for marketing materials and appointments
Risks
Prime stand positions are limited — priority booking has already closed for returning exhibitors

ROI depends on pre-show marketing and appointment booking — passive exhibiting yields poor returns
New Brands Zone spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come basis
