    Industry trends

Key trends shaping this market and its wider industry.

    01

Zonal E/E Architectures and High-Voltage Harness Demand Reshape Design

The automotive industry is shifting from conventional vehicle wiring architectures toward higher-voltage, higher-power, software-defined, and increasingly zonal electrical/electronic architectures. Zonal architectures group functions into zones rather than connecting a large number of ECUs through long wiring routes, which can shorten wiring routes and break one large, highly complex harness into several smaller sub-harnesses that are easier for machines to manufacture and handle. Expansion of high-power charging and higher-voltage EV architectures is increasing demand for charging inlets, high-current terminals, and localized production and automation-ready harness designs

    Source
    02

Automation and AI Move from Optional to Structural in Wire Processing

Automation is no longer limited to large-scale producers. Medium-sized wire drawers are increasingly integrating automated coil handling systems, robotic palletising, and digital process control to reduce downtime and labour dependency. AI-first manufacturing platforms are emerging to modernize wire harness assembly and production. Organizations using AI-driven platforms have reported production acceleration of up to 50%, a 95% reduction in design-to-build time, and direct labor cost reductions up to 25%. The wire processing machines market is projected to grow from USD 1.4 billion in 2025 to USD 2.6 billion by 2032 at a CAGR of 8.8%

    Source
    03

High-Mix Low-Volume Production Drives Demand for Flexible Systems

Major trends in the wire processing machines market include high-mix low-volume production increasing demand for flexible wire processing systems and rising complexity of wire harness architectures in modern electronics and industrial systems. The aftermarket segment is forecast to grow faster than new machine sales at 5–7% annually as the installed base expands and machines become more complex, requiring more sophisticated maintenance and consumables

Answer 8 quick questions to get a personalised recommendation on whether to visit, exhibit, or skip EWPTE 2027 based on your role, budget, timeline, and travel profile

    QUESTION 1 OF 8

What is your primary role in the cable and wire harness industry?

    Decision matrix

Compare participation options side by side to choose the best fit for your objectives.

    visit

Your role involves designing, specifying, purchasing, installing, selling, maintaining, or manufacturing electronic cable assemblies, cord sets, or wiring harnesses, and you want to discover new technologies, compare suppliers, and access technical education in a focused environment

    Best for

Engineers, designers, specifiers, purchasers, and plant managers who need to source wire processing equipment, materials, or services; professionals seeking technical education and industry networking; anyone evaluating new suppliers or comparing equipment live

    Min. budget

    $500.00

    Timeline

Book 2–3 months in advance for best rates on flights and hotels. Registration opens in early 2027; early-bird conference pricing (if offered) typically ends in March/April

    Risks

Limited hotel availability if booking late — the official block deadline for the 2026 edition was April 1–6

Travel costs may be higher for international visitors requiring visas; B-1 visa processing can exceed 12 months at some consulates

    exhibit

Your company manufactures or supplies products and services directly for the cable and wire harness manufacturing industry, and you want to generate qualified leads, launch new products, and connect with more than 3,000 industry professionals in a focused trade show environment

    Best for

Manufacturers and independent representatives of wire processing equipment, materials, and services; suppliers of crimping, ultrasonics, tooling, overmolding, testing, and automation solutions; companies serving aerospace, automotive, defense, medical, off-highway, and recreational industries

    Min. budget

    $5,000.00

    Timeline

Contract and 50% non-refundable deposit due by July 24, 2026 to participate in initial booth space selection. Final payment due January 9, 2027. Floor plan available late August 2026

    Risks

Booth space is allocated by lottery for returning exhibitors; new exhibitors select after Tier 1 and Tier 2 companies

A $3.00 per square foot penalty applies for any company not paid in full by January 9, 2027

Cancellation on or after January 9, 2027 results in a 100% charge with no refunds

    skip

Your work does not involve wire harness design, cable assembly, wire processing equipment, or related materials and services, and you have no near-term plans to enter or serve this industry

    Best for

Professionals or companies with no direct involvement in the cable, wire harness, or wire processing industry; those whose products or services are not relevant to harness manufacturing; anyone unable to commit the time or budget for meaningful participation
