    A limited number of nationalities may enter Egypt visa-free or receive a free entry permission stamp under specific conditions. Citizens of the UK, US and EU member states travelling exclusively to Red Sea resort destinations such as Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba and Taba can receive a free entry permission stamp on arrival for up to 15 days. This does not apply to business travel or exhibition attendance in Cairo.     Egypt does not currently accept the ATA Carnet for temporary importation of goods. Instead, a temporary admission permit or customs guarantee/bond is required. Goods intended for temporary importation must clearly bear visible engraved serial numbers wherever possible, and the same must match the commercial invoice 100%. Egyptian customs allows commercial samples and temporary imports for display purposes at officially recognised exhibitions to enter the country duty-free, except for prohibited imports. Temporary imports may be disposed of or sold in Egypt upon payment of the appropriate customs duty plus an extra tax of 10 percent per month after clearing customs. Exhibitors should appoint a local customs broker and budget for customs guarantees.

Rainfall is extremely rare (0.1 mm for the month), with almost all days sunny.     EIEC is in New Cairo's Fifth Settlement, with direct access from El Mushir Tantawy Axis and connections to El-Nasr Road and the Ring Road. Cairo International Airport is about 18 km away, roughly 20–40 minutes by car. Ride-hailing apps (Uber, Careem) and local taxis are widely available. Cairo Metro Line 3 serves Abbasiya and Fairgrounds stations; from there, visitors complete the journey by bus, microbus or a short taxi trip. Public buses and minibuses run to New Cairo via Teseen Street and 90th Street. A BRT station at El-Moshir Tantawy connects to the venue. Many nearby hotels provide shuttle services.

    Business formal dress is typical for meetings in Egypt, and exchanging business cards is standard practice. Address counterparts by their proper titles — doctor, engineer, sir, madam. A handshake is customary, but allow a person of the opposite sex to initiate it. Egyptians are generally warm, sociable and hospitable, and conversations often begin with friendly questions before moving to business.

    Egyptians tend to be on time for pre-scheduled meetings, so arriving punctually at trade-show appointments is expected and seen as a sign of professionalism. Business relationships are built through initial courtesy and trust-building before commercial terms are discussed; decision-making can be slow.

    Tipping is customary across service settings in Egypt. Restaurants typically expect 10–15%, and hotel staff such as housekeeping and bellhops expect small gratuities. When tipping directly to staff, 50–80 EGP is generally appreciated. Budget for modest cash tips for venue staff, drivers and hotel personnel during the show.

For the majority of nationalities, the process is straightforward: apply for an e-Visa online in advance through the official government portal (visa2egypt.gov.eg) or obtain a visa on arrival at Cairo International Airport. The standard visa is single-entry, valid for 30 days, and costs approximately USD 30–36. A multiple-entry option is available for approximately USD 60. A limited number of nationalities may be visa-exempt. Rules depend entirely on your passport, so confirm your eligibility on the official portal before booking flights.

    The e-Visa portal is available in 8 languages and covers 74 countries. From 1 August 2026, Egypt implemented a digital visa-on-arrival system at Cairo International Airport, issuing a QR code instead of a paper sticker. The visa is for tourism purposes; business travellers should verify whether a business visa or invitation letter from the event organiser is required.     Ride-hail: Anywhere in Cairo → Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC), New Cairo — Uber and Careem operate across Cairo and are the most convenient option for reaching EIEC directly. Allow extra time during peak traffic hours (08:00–10:00 and 16:00–19:00). Keep small cash for taxis.

    Public transit: Metro Line 3 to Abbasiya or Al-Ahram Station, then bus or microbus toward. New Cairo's Fifth Settlement area — The metro does not reach the Fifth Settlement directly. From Abbasiya or Al-Ahram, continue by bus or microbus toward the venue. Microbuses are available from various areas in Cairo to the Fifth Settlement; get off at South Teseen Street or the nearest stop and take local transport to EIEC.

    Parking: EIEC offers spacious parking for approximately 3,300 vehicles, including open-air and underground lots. Only exhibitors with car parking passes, official buses and invited delegations may enter the complex; other visitors park outside the boundary wall near the gate entrance.
