    Why it matters

DIDAC INDIA & DIDAC SKILLS 2026 sits at the intersection of three powerful forces reshaping India's education and skills landscape: the AI-driven transformation of learning, unprecedented government investment in skilling and vocational training, and the rapid expansion of India's education market toward USD 313 billion by FY30. For buyers, the event offers a single platform to evaluate 500+ exhibitors from over 20 countries across all product categories — from AI-enabled classroom solutions and AR/VR learning tools to vocational training equipment, lab apparatus, and digital content. For exhibitors, it provides unmatched access to India's education decision-makers: school owners, vice chancellors, principals, ITI directors, and government skilling officials who are actively deploying budgets in 2026-27. With the Ministry of Skill Development allocation at Rs. 9,540.50 crore and 1,000 ITIs being upgraded with smart classrooms, the procurement opportunity is immediate and substantial. The co-located DIDAC SKILLS event taps into the vocational education market's projected growth to Rs. 415 billion by CY29, connecting global solution providers with India's expanding network of 14,688 ITIs and Skill India Digital's 1.5 crore registered candidates. The move to Bengaluru for the 2026 edition places the event at the heart of India's technology and startup ecosystem, enhancing its relevance for EdTech and digital learning solution providers.

    01

India's Education Market Accelerates Toward USD 313 Billion by FY30

India's education market is projected to reach USD 313 billion by FY30, driven by a demographic dividend with 580 million people aged 5-24 and over 250 million school-going students. The K-12 segment alone was valued at USD 48.9 billion in 2023 and is estimated to grow at 10.7% to reach USD 125.8 billion. The higher education market was valued at Rs. 5.75 lakh crore. Government allocation for school education increased 16.28% to Rs. 78,572 crore (USD 8.99 billion) in FY26. This scale makes India one of the most attractive education markets globally, with direct implications for the procurement of educational resources, technology, and skills solutions showcased at DIDAC India 2026.

EdTech Sector Shifts from Funding-Led Growth to Model-Led Consolidation

India's EdTech funding moderated sharply from USD 4.3 billion in 2021 to USD 214 million in the first eight months of 2026, reflecting a sector-wide shift toward sustainable, outcome-driven business models. The median round size rose to USD 1.1 million in 2026, nearly twice the typical round size in previous years. India now hosts over 18,600 EdTech companies, the highest globally after the United States. The market is valued at Rs. 64,875 crore (USD 7.5 billion) and projected to reach Rs. 2,50,850 crore (USD 29 billion) by FY30 at a CAGR of 25-28%. This consolidation phase is driving demand for proven, scalable solutions — exactly what DIDAC India 2026 exhibitors bring to institutional buyers.

Government Skilling Push Creates Massive Procurement Opportunity

The Economic Survey 2025-26 outlined a comprehensive skilling agenda: 1,000 government ITIs are to be upgraded under a nationwide scheme with smart classrooms, modern labs, digital content, and industry-aligned courses. Future-skills courses in AI, IoT, renewable energy, and 3D printing have been expanded, with 169 NSQF-compliant trades developed. Over 43.47 lakh apprentices are engaged under PM-NAPS across 36 states/UTs. The share of individuals (15-59 age group) with vocational or technical training increased from 8.1% in 2017-18 to 34.7% in 2023-24. India had 14,688 Industrial Training Institutes by early 2026. This policy-driven expansion creates direct demand for vocational training equipment, lab apparatus, and digital learning infrastructure — core product categories at DIDAC SKILLS 2026.

AI and Emerging Technologies Reshape Education and Skilling

AI, cybersecurity, and digital skills have become India's most sought-after capabilities, according to the NIIT India Skills Gap Report 2026. Enrolments in agentic AI courses in India increased three times in May 2026 compared to May 2025. The Union Budget 2026-27 framed AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics) as a growing industry with a workforce requirement of two million professionals by 2030. The education minister has stated that AI will be incorporated into India's education framework from Class 3 through advanced research levels. These trends are driving institutional demand for AI-enabled learning platforms, adaptive assessment tools, and digital content — a dominant exhibitor category at DIDAC India 2026.

NEP 2020 Implementation Drives Institutional Modernisation and Procurement

Six years after NEP 2020, transformative changes continue across school and higher education. Key developments include the National Credit Framework, multiple entry and exit in academic programmes, APAAR ID for lifelong learning tracking, PM-Vidyalaxmi student financing, SWAYAM Plus for upskilling, and regulations permitting foreign HEIs to establish campuses in India. The Union Budget 2026-27 announced five University Townships near industrial corridors and a High-Powered Education to Employment and Enterprise Standing Committee. These reforms are creating sustained demand for digital learning platforms, assessment tools, smart classroom infrastructure, and teacher training solutions from institutions across India.

    06

Foreign Investment and International Collaboration Intensify

India permits 100% FDI through the automatic route in the education sector. Cumulative FDI equity inflow in education reached Rs 96,558 crore (USD 10.82 billion) from April 2000 to June 2025, while EdTech attracted over Rs 1,23,883 crore (USD 14.4 billion) in private equity and venture capital from 2015 to 2025. Dubai's GEMS Education announced a USD 30 million investment to open 30+ schools in India. The education market is projected to reach USD 313 billion by FY30. This capital influx is expanding institutional capacity and creating procurement demand for global educational products and solutions.

    07

Skills Gap Drives Enterprise and Institutional Upskilling Demand

According to NASSCOM and Draup analysis, India needs to upskill nearly 1.4 million to 1.9 million engineers to meet 2026 demand. The India corporate training market is forecast to grow from USD 6,180 million in 2025 to USD 12,910 million by 2031 at a 13.1% CAGR. With 77% of employers planning upskilling initiatives, and the long-term training indicator rising from 41% in 2023 to 50% in 2025, enterprises are shifting from one-off workshops to persistent learning architecture. DIDAC SKILLS 2026 connects solution providers with this enterprise and institutional demand.

    Cultural notes

Useful information to help you have a smooth and respectful visit.

    Business etiquette in Bengaluru

Bengaluru is India's technology capital and its business culture is relatively informal compared to other Indian metros. Punctuality is appreciated for scheduled meetings. English is widely spoken in business contexts. A firm handshake is the standard greeting; exchanging business cards with both hands is respectful. 'Namaste' with folded hands is also common in traditional settings. Initial meetings may begin with small talk; relationships are valued and developed over time.

    Dining and dietary considerations

Bengaluru offers extensive vegetarian, vegan and non-vegetarian dining options. South Indian cuisine — dosa, idli, and filter coffee — is a local specialty. Many restaurants are pure vegetarian, often marked with green symbols; non-vegetarian establishments use red symbols. Beef is not widely served. Eating with your right hand is traditional; the left hand is considered impure for eating or passing items. Tap water should be avoided; stick to bottled water. Street food should be chosen from stalls with high customer turnover and good hygiene.

    Dress code and local customs

Business attire is modest and formal. For women, business formal or business casual is appropriate. Bengaluru's dress code is generally more relaxed than other Indian cities, and Western attire is widely accepted, though modesty is appreciated especially in rural areas and places of worship. Shoes should be removed before entering temples, mosques, or someone's home. Respect local religious practices and abstain from beef in many areas.

    Tipping and payments

Tipping is not mandatory but 5-10% at restaurants is appreciated. Auto-rickshaw drivers may quote fares; app-based booking is more predictable. Digital payments (UPI, Paytm, Google Pay) are widely accepted in Bengaluru, though carrying some cash in Indian Rupees is advisable for smaller vendors and auto-rickshaws. ATMs are widely available across the city.
