    InterContinental Seoul COEX

    5-star
    Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu

    USD 200–260 / night

    Savoy Hotel Seoul

    3-star
    Myeongdong, Jung-gu

    USD 95–122 / night

Google Hotels listing rated 4.0; breakfast (paid), free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, restaurant, full-service laundry, kid-friendly and smoke-free. Central Myeongdong base, roughly 30-40 min to COEX by subway.

    Gangnam Seven Hostel

    Budget hostel
    Gangnam-gu

    USD 35–55 / night

Google Hotels listing shown 52% below its usual rate and rated 2.7 - the lowest-priced option captured for the dates. Suitable for a lean solo trip near Gangnam, not for buyer entertaining.

    Local transport

Get around the city with these convenient transport options.

AREX all-stop train plus subway Line 9

Estimated costUSD 2.50-6 single metro/light-rail journey (contactless)
Best forIncheon Airport T2 to Seoul Station, then Line 9 to Bongeunsa (COEX)

Captured Google Maps route of about 2 hr 2 min from Terminal 2 with service roughly every 8 min, departing 5:08 AM. Cheapest rail option but the slowest door-to-door.

AREX Express train plus subway Line 9

Estimated costApprox. KRW 9,500-11,000 one way for the express plus approx. KRW 1,500 subway leg (about USD 8-9); confirm fares
Best forIncheon Airport T2 to Seoul Station, then Line 9 to Bongeunsa (COEX)

The non-stop express to Seoul Station cuts the airport leg, but you still transfer to Line 9 for COEX. Worth it if you are carrying samples or exhibition material.

    Airport limousine bus 6001

Estimated costApprox. KRW 17,000 one way (about USD 13); confirm the current 6001 fare and stop list
Best forIncheon Airport to Gangnam/Samseong area, short taxi or walk to COEX Hall A

Captured route of about 1 hr 37 min departing 5:05 AM, connecting to subway Line 6. Best used with heavy luggage since the bus drops you inside Gangnam.

    Airport limousine bus 6701

Estimated costApprox. KRW 18,000 one way (about USD 14); confirm the current 6701 fare and COEX-area stops
Best forIncheon Airport to COEX area hotels

Captured route of about 1 hr 39 min departing 5:11 AM. The 6701 group is the limousine line most often used for Gangnam and COEX hotels.

    Taxi or ride-hail (Kakao T)

Estimated costApprox. KRW 70,000-90,000 plus tolls (about USD 55-70); confirm the meter on arrival
Best forIncheon Airport to COEX Hall A, Samseong-dong

Door-to-door option for late arrivals or heavy sample cases when the first AREX and bus departures around 5 AM do not suit. Road distance Seoul to Incheon is about 20 mi (32 km).

    Seoul metro (Lines 2, 7, 9)

Estimated costApprox. KRW 1,400-1,500 base fare per journey (about USD 1.10) with T-money; longer cross-city trips scale up
Best forCity hotels to Samseong (Line 2) or Bongeunsa (Line 9) for COEX

Samseong station on Line 2 and Bongeunsa on Line 9 both serve COEX. A rechargeable T-money card covers subway and bus legs and avoids single-ticket machines.

    Gimpo Airport subway connection

Estimated costApprox. KRW 1,500-1,800 single subway journey (about USD 1.20-1.40); confirm fare
Best forGimpo International Airport to Bongeunsa (Line 9) for COEX

Line 9 runs from Gimpo toward Bongeunsa near COEX, making this the simplest airport-to-venue leg if you arrive at GMP instead of ICN.

    Self-drive / parking at COEX

Estimated costApprox. KRW 4,000-6,000 per hour, with daily caps applied by the venue (estimate; confirm current COEX tariff)
Best forCOEX exhibition centre car park, Samseong-dong

COEX has on-site underground parking but central Seoul traffic and fair-week demand make the subway or a taxi the more predictable choice. Confirm exhibitor parking passes with the organiser.

    Weather

Late May in Seoul is late spring: mild, mostly dry days with a daytime band around 12-24°C (53-75°F) and cooler evenings. The heavy jangma rainy season normally starts around late June, so the show window is more likely to bring passing showers than sustained rain. A light layer plus a compact umbrella covers the range; check a 7-day forecast in the week before departure. Humidity and air quality can vary day to day - the free-source air-quality sample for Seoul showed a US AQI around 52, so sensitive visitors should follow local advisories.

    Plan for the climate

    Check temperatures and pack accordingly

    Venue connectivity

Korea runs 5G and LTE on KT, SK Telecom and LG U+, with strong coverage in Gangnam and inside COEX. Prepaid tourist SIM cards and eSIM plans are sold at Incheon arrival halls and pocket Wi-Fi can be rented, so an eSIM bought before departure gets you data the moment you land. COEX provides Wi-Fi in public concourse areas; confirm the exhibitor and press network with the organiser. KakaoTalk is the default messaging app for Korean contacts, so install it before you travel - supplier follow-ups and meeting changes usually arrive there rather than by email. Korean power is 220V at 60Hz with Type C/F sockets, so bring a universal adapter.

    Cultural notes

Useful information to help you have a smooth and respectful visit.

    Business cards and introductions

Korean business culture is formal at first contact. Offer and receive cards with both hands, take a moment to read the card before putting it away, and use titles plus family name until invited otherwise. At Cosmobeauty Seoul, a card with Korean on the reverse side noticeably smooths introductions with OEM/ODM booth staff.

    Meeting pace and hierarchy

Seniority shapes who speaks first in a Korean meeting. Expect initial small talk, then a technical conversation led by the most senior person present. Decisions on MOQ, pricing and exclusivity are often taken after the fair rather than at the booth, so end each meeting with a clear next step and a named contact.

    Language and interpretation

Korean is the working language of most exhibitor stands, with English common among export-facing teams. For contract-level discussions, bring or hire an interpreter rather than relying on a colleague's basic Korean; written terms and specifications should be confirmed in writing.

    Tipping and payment

Tipping is not customary in Korea and can be declined; service charges appear on hotel and restaurant bills instead. Card payment is accepted almost everywhere, but keep some KRW cash for small booths, taxi rides and market purchases. Taxi drivers rarely accept foreign cards, so cash is useful for short trips.

    Dining and after-hours hospitality

Business dinners are common during trade fairs and often involve shared dishes and soju or beer. Pour for others rather than yourself, wait for the most senior person to start, and expect a second venue after dinner. A polite refusal of more alcohol is acceptable and increasingly common.

    Etiquette in the halls

Hand a sample or catalogue with your right hand or both hands, avoid writing on a business card in front of its owner, and remove shoes where a stand or showroom requests it. Photographing another company's booth or product labels without permission is considered poor form at Korean fairs.

    Visitor & Exhibitor Essentials

Everything needed to arrive prepared, navigate the event, and make the visit productive.

    Flights

    Destination: ICN

Seoul is served by Incheon (ICN) for long-haul and Gimpo (GMP) for domestic and short regional legs. Captured flight insights for 19 May 2027 showed Tokyo routes as short nonstops under three hours, Singapore nonstops around 6 hr 30 min, Sydney direct around 10 hr 30 min, London nonstops about 12 hr 40 min, and some New York itineraries connecting via Hong Kong or Taipei. Google Flights price insights for Seoul departures in the capture window were marked typical, and 19-23 May 2027 was the tracked round-trip span. Fares exclude optional bag fees, so check baggage rules before booking - sample cases of cosmetics and packaging need cabin or extra allowance planning.

    Transport

Get to the venue and around the city with these options.

Airport → venue: Primary gateways: Seoul (ICN): Primary international gateway serving Seoul.. Allow road or rail time to COEX Hall A & Lobby; on-site parking is usually available at major exhibition venues.

Hotel → venue: Precinct hotels near COEX Hall A & Lobby: Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu: Grand Hyatt Seoul; Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu: InterContinental Seoul COEX; Myeongdong, Jung-gu: Savoy Hotel Seoul.

Ride-hail: Kakao T is the app Koreans use for taxis, with an English interface and card registration for foreign numbers in most cases; UT and TADA cover selected routes. From COEX, hail a taxi at the designated stands rather than flagging on Teheran-ro at rush hour. Drivers rarely speak English, so have the Korean address of your hotel or the venue saved. Late-night availability in Gangnam is good, but surcharges apply after midnight. Confirm the meter is running at the start of the ride and keep some KRW cash as a fallback.

Public transit: Incheon International Airport connects to Seoul by Airport Railroad (AREX), limousine buses including 6001 and 6701, and city buses. Captured Google Maps routes to COEX Hall A combine AREX with Line 9 or a limousine bus with Line 6, taking about 1 hr 34 min to hr 39 min depending on the combination. COEX itself is served by Samseong station on Line 2 and Bongeunsa station on Line 9, with Samseong Jungang (Line 9) also walkable. A rechargeable T-money card works across subway, bus and some taxis; buy one at a convenience store or ICN arrival hall and top up as you go. Trains run frequently until roughly midnight, so check the last service if you are staying in Myeongdong or Itaewon.

Parking: COEX has on-site underground parking with paid hourly tariffs, and the exhibition halls set aside zones for exhibitors and press; confirm the current rate card and exhibitor pass process with the organiser rather than relying on the gate price. Fair-week demand fills the complex early, and Teheran-ro traffic slows badly in the morning and evening peaks. For most visitors the subway or a taxi is faster than driving, and Korean navigation apps such as Kakao Map give live parking availability. If you do drive, allow 15-20 minutes beyond the GPS estimate to enter the car park.

    Weather

Plan and pack for the event climate.

    Month: May 2027 (late spring)

Temperature: Approx. 12-24°C (53-75°F) daytime, with nights around 10-14°C - a climatological band for late May in Seoul, not a forecast; confirm with a 7-day outlook before packing

Seasonality: Late May sits in the drier spring window before the jangma rains that usually begin around late June. Expect mostly dry show days with the chance of passing showers rather than all-day rain, and note that humidity and fine-dust levels can shift quickly in Seoul.

Packing: Pack light layers that work from a cool morning to a warm afternoon, a compact umbrella, and comfortable shoes for long days on hard COEX hall flooring. Bring business-casual meeting clothes, a universal Type C/F adapter for Korean 220V sockets, a portable battery for lead-capture apps, and space in your case for catalogues and samples. A light mask is useful if you are sensitive to spring fine dust.

    Plan your trip

    Planning

Best day to visit: Day 2 (mid-show)

Mid-show days at Cosmobeauty Seoul usually combine full exhibitor attendance with scheduled B2B meetings, before early pack-down on the final day.

    T-1

14 days out - confirm your registration status on cosmobeautyseoul.com and note the badge collection procedure for COEX Hall A.

    T-2

14 days out - check Korea entry rules for your passport (visa-free stay, K-ETA or visa) and confirm your passport has at least six months validity.

    T-3

13 days out - book flights into Incheon (ICN); Gimpo (GMP) only helps if you are arriving on a domestic or short-haul international leg.

    T-4

12 days out - reserve a refundable hotel in Gangnam/Samseong for walking access to COEX, or in Myeongdong/Itaewon if nightly rate matters more than commute time.

    T-5

11 days out - buy a T-money card plan or load a mobile transit pass; it covers AREX, subway and bus legs during the stay.

    T-6

10 days out - build a shortlist of OEM/ODM, packaging and ingredient exhibitors from the show directory and request meetings before the halls open.

    T-7

9 days out - prepare your buyer profile one-pager: company, channels served, target price band, MOQ appetite and destination-market compliance needs.

    T-8

8 days out - check whether you need Korean-language business cards; English cards are accepted but a Korean reverse side speeds introductions.

    T-9

7 days out - arrange travel insurance and confirm your mobile data option (eSIM, prepaid SIM at ICN, or roaming).

    T-10

5 days out - print or download the COEX hall plan and mark your priority aisles so you do not lose a day walking Hall A.

    T-11

3 days out - reconfirm meeting times with Korean suppliers; KakaoTalk is the default channel for last-minute changes.

    T-12

2 days out - check the Seoul forecast and pack light layers plus a compact umbrella for late-May showers.

    T-13

1 day out - plan your airport-to-hotel transfer around AREX or limousine bus 6001/6701 timings and keep some KRW cash for the first taxi.

    T-14

Show day 1 - arrive at opening for badge pickup, walk the hall once, then work your shortlist; book sample shipments and follow-up visits before you leave.

    FAQs & glossary

    Answers

    Frequently asked

When and where is Cosmobeauty Seoul taking place?
The edition in the current capture window runs 19-21 May 2027 at COEX Hall A in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Confirm the final hall allocation, daily opening hours and any trade-only days on the organiser site, cosmobeautyseoul.com, before you book flights. The schedule page is published at cosmobeautyseoul.com/schedule.
    Who exhibits at Cosmobeauty Seoul?
The show is a beauty and cosmetics supply-chain fair: finished-goods Korean brands, OEM/ODM contract manufacturers, packaging and dispensing suppliers, raw materials and ingredient houses, sheet-mask and sun-care specialists, nail, lash and hair product makers, plus beauty devices and salon equipment. Check the exhibitor directory on cosmobeautyseoul.com for the confirmed list for the 2027 edition before you plan meetings.
Is Cosmobeauty Seoul a trade-only fair or can the public attend?
Korean beauty trade fairs generally admit trade buyers and industry professionals, with access controlled by business registration or an invitation code. Check the visitor qualification rules on cosmobeautyseoul.com and whether any public or consumer day is scheduled, because entry policy can differ by hall and by day.
How do I register and collect my badge?
Register online through cosmobeautyseoul.com ahead of travel, then collect your badge at the COEX Hall A registration desk with your business card or company identification. Bring a printed or mobile copy of your registration confirmation and allow extra time on the first morning for queueing and security screening.
How do I get from Incheon International Airport to COEX?
Three realistic options: the AREX airport railroad into Seoul followed by subway Line 9 to Bongeunsa (captured Google Maps journeys take roughly 1 hr 34 min to 2 hr 2 min door to door), an airport limousine bus such as 6001 or 6701 with a short subway or taxi leg, or a metered taxi at roughly KRW 70,000-90,000 plus tolls for the 20 mi (32 km) run into Gangnam. Confirm live fares and the last train time on arrival.
    Which subway stations serve COEX?
COEX is served by Samseong station on Line 2 and Bongeunsa station on Line 9, with Samseong Jungang (Line 9) also within walking distance of the complex. A rechargeable T-money card works across subway and bus legs and is the simplest way to pay for Seoul transit during the show.
Where should I stay for Cosmobeauty Seoul?
For walking distance to COEX, look at Gangnam and Samseong hotels such as InterContinental Seoul COEX, which is attached to the complex. Myeongdong, Itaewon and Dongdaemun hotels (Savoy Hotel Seoul, Imperial Palace Boutique Hotel, Days Hotel by Wyndham Seoul Myeongdong) cost less per night but add a 20-40 minute subway ride. Grand Hyatt Seoul in Hannam-dong sits between the two, with easy taxi access to Gangnam.
What language is used at the fair, and is there English support?
Korean is the working language of the halls, with English widely used by exporters and international buyer desks. Confirm with the organiser whether an interpretation service, hosted buyer programme or matchmaking lounge is running for overseas visitors in 2027, and hire a Korean-speaking assistant if you plan contract-level negotiations.
Do I need a visa or K-ETA to attend?
Entry rules depend on your nationality: some passports travel visa-free for short business visits, some require a K-ETA electronic authorisation, and others need a visa obtained before departure. Verify your own case on the official Korea Immigration (Hi Korea) or K-ETA portal well before booking, and carry proof of hotel booking and a return ticket.
What is the weather like in Seoul during the show dates?
Late May is late spring in Seoul: daytime highs typically in the low to mid 20s Celsius, cooler evenings, and passing showers rather than the heavy jangma rains that arrive around late June. Pack light layers and a compact umbrella, and check a 7-day forecast close to departure.
Can I book a booth at Cosmobeauty Seoul?
Booth space is sold by the organiser; rates, shell-scheme options and available hall zones are quoted on application rather than published as fixed prices here. Use the exhibitor enquiry form on cosmobeautyseoul.com, state your product category and required square metres, and ask for the floor plan for Hall A before committing.
How many days should I plan at the show?
With three show days, most buyers split the visit into a first-day hall walk, a second day of formula, MOQ and lead-time discussions with shortlisted OEM/ODM suppliers, and a third day for contract details, samples and logistics. Add half a day for COEX-area follow-up meetings, since many Korean manufacturer head offices and Gangnam agency offices are within a short taxi ride.

    Glossary

    1
    K-beauty
The umbrella label used by international buyers for Korean cosmetics - skincare-led routines, lightweight layered textures and fast product cycles driven by Korean indie brands and contract manufacturers. At Cosmobeauty Seoul it describes the finished-goods and ingredient lines Korean suppliers are pitching to export buyers.
    2
    OEM (original equipment manufacturer)
A Korean factory that produces a finished cosmetic to a buyer's formula and packaging specification. OEM suppliers at Cosmobeauty Seoul quote on minimum batch volume, mould cost and lead time rather than shelf-ready prices.
    3
    ODM (original design manufacturer)
A manufacturer that develops the formula in house, so the buyer can select from a catalogue of ready formulas and simply apply its own brand. Korean ODMs are a core exhibitor segment at Seoul beauty trade fairs because they shorten time to market for indie brands.
    4
    OBM (original brand manufacturer)
A step beyond ODM, where the manufacturer also owns or licenses a brand concept and hands over a market-ready product line - a model used by several Korean small and mid-size cosmetics houses to supply overseas distributors.
    5
    Functional cosmetics (Korea)
Korea's regulated cosmetic category for products making claims such as whitening, wrinkle improvement, UV protection, hair-loss mitigation or body-fat reduction. Formulas with these claims require review or reporting under Korean cosmetics law, which is why exhibitors bring documentation packs to the show.

International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients - the standard ingredient naming system printed on labels and used in formulation data sheets. Buyers comparing Korean formulas against EU or ASEAN labelling rules work from INCI lists at the show.
    7
    MOQ (minimum order quantity)
The smallest batch a manufacturer will run for a buyer. MOQ, unit cost and tooling cost are the three numbers Korean OEM/ODM booths quote most often to visiting distributors and brand owners.
    8
    Private label
Ready-developed stock formulas sold under the buyer's own brand, usually with lower MOQ and shorter lead time than bespoke development. A common entry route for importers and online-first beauty brands sourcing in Seoul.
    9
    CICA / centella asiatica
A soothing ingredient family built around Centella asiatica extract, made famous by Korean skincare and now a standard shelf concept in derma and sensitive-skin lines. Expect CICA-positioned serums, toners and masks across the skincare halls.
    10
    Derma cosmetics
Skincare positioned for sensitive, reactive or post-procedure skin, often developed with dermatology clinics or sold through pharmacy and clinic channels. Korean derma lines are a fast-growing export category shown to buyers at Seoul fairs.
    11
    SPF / PA rating
Sun protection metrics: SPF covers UVB burning protection and the PA system (PA+ to PA++++) covers UVA. Korean sun care is a high-volume export category, and label claims must match the testing documentation the manufacturer can supply.
    12
    Sheet mask
A single-use fabric or hydrogel mask saturated with serum - a Korean category that created global demand. Buyers at Cosmobeauty Seoul compare mask substrates, essence loading and per-unit cost across mask-specialist manufacturers.
    13
    Cosmetic regulatory compliance (export)
The documentation set required to sell a cosmetic in the destination market: ingredient restrictions, labelling, safety assessment and product notification. Korean exporters at the show typically carry EU, US, ASEAN and China dossiers prepared in advance.
    14
    Hallyu
The Korean cultural wave - K-drama, K-pop and influencer content - that drives overseas demand for Korean makeup, skincare and hair care. Buyers use Hallyu-linked launches to test which Korean brands already carry recognition in their home market.
    15
    Beauty device / aesthetic equipment
Hardware such as LED masks, microcurrent units, skin analysers and salon-grade aesthetic machines, distinct from topical cosmetics. Device lines carry electrical safety, certification and after-sales obligations that differ from cosmetic imports.
