Citizens of Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries, including the UK, most of the EU, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and others, may enter the U.S. for business purposes such as attending CEDIA Expo without a visa for stays up to 90 days, provided they hold a valid ESTA authorization. Nationals of all other countries must obtain a B-1 business visitor visa in advance; visa requirements and processing times vary significantly by nationality and home-country consulate workload, so this is nationality-dependent and should be confirmed via the U.S. embassy or consulate serving the traveler's country.

The United States accepts ATA Carnets for the temporary duty-free import of commercial samples, professional equipment, and trade show exhibition goods, administered in the U.S. by the U.S. Council for International Business (USCIB). Exhibitors shipping demo units or booth equipment to CEDIA Expo/CIX 2026 from abroad should arrange an ATA Carnet through USCIB or their national chamber of commerce before shipping, as CEDIA's official Exhibitor Services Manual does not itself administer carnets.

Expect about 1–1.2 inches (25–31 mm) of rainfall across 5–7 days. Afternoon thunderstorms are possible. Venue connectivity

The Colorado Convention Center is highly accessible via multiple transit modes. The RTD A Line train connects Denver International Airport (DEN) to Denver Union Station in 37 minutes ($5–15); from Union Station, the free 16th Street MallRide shuttle runs every few minutes to within two blocks of the venue. The Theatre District / Convention Center light rail station (D, F, H Lines) is at the Stout Street entrance. Note: RTD will suspend D, H, and L light rail lines from June 2026 through Q1 2027 for the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project; C and T lines will provide替代 service. Cultural notes

Useful information to help you have a smooth and respectful visit.

Mile High City & Outdoor Culture

Denver's identity is shaped by its proximity to the Rocky Mountains. Locals embrace an active outdoor lifestyle; hiking, biking, and brewery visits are common. The city blends Old West heritage with a modern, creative urban scene. The altitude (5,280 ft) is a point of pride but affects newcomers — drink water, limit alcohol, and take it easy the first day.

    Craft Beer & Culinary Scene

Denver has one of the nation's most vibrant craft beer scenes, with numerous breweries in the LoDo (Lower Downtown) and RiNo (River North) districts. The dining scene ranges from food halls and food trucks to upscale farm-to-table restaurants; many are within walking distance of the convention center.

    Arts & Museums

The Denver Art Museum (DAM) is a cultural anchor with renowned Native American and Western art collections. Other highlights include the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), the Clyfford Still Museum, and the historic Union Station, a beautifully restored transit hub and gathering place.

    Tipping & Service Culture

Tipping is customary in the US. Standard gratuities: 15–20% at restaurants; $1–2 per drink at bars; $2–5 per bag for hotel porters; and 10–15% for taxi/ride-share drivers.

    Sales Tax

Denver has a combined sales tax rate of approximately 8.81% (state + city + district). This is added at the point of sale for most goods and services (excluding most groceries).

    Visitor & Exhibitor Essentials

Everything needed to arrive prepared, navigate the event, and make the visit productive.

    Flights

    Destination: Denver International Airport (DEN)

DEN is a major hub for United and Southwest, with extensive domestic and international connections. Book early for best fares, especially for travel over Labor Day weekend. Consider arriving on Tuesday, September 1, to attend CEDIA Education sessions.

    Visa

Visa requirement for CEDIA Expo/CIX 2026 attendees depends on nationality: citizens of Visa Waiver Program countries can enter with ESTA authorization for business visits up to 90 days, while all other international visitors need a B-1 business visitor visa obtained from a U.S. embassy or consulate before travel.

    Estimated cost: Not yet confirmed

Processing: ESTA: minutes to 72 hours; B-1 visa: several weeks to months depending on embassy interview wait times, so applying several months ahead of the September 1-4, 2026 event is recommended

CEDIA Expo provides visa letters of invitation to registered attendees and exhibitors on request during registration, which can support B-1 visa interviews or ESTA applications; contact CEDIA customer service or your Account Executive for the letter.
