A bigger and stronger platform
Anuga 2025 broke all previous records, establishing itself as the biggest business and innovation platform of the global food industry. The 38th edition of the world's leading food and beverage trade fair, held from 4 to 8 October at Koelnmesse in Cologne, attracted 8,015 exhibitors from 110 countries and more than 145,000 trade visitors from over 190 nations. The foreign share of exhibitors was 94%, while visitors from abroad accounted for 80%, reinforcing Anuga's position as the undisputed global platform for the F&B industry. Trade visitors from Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain were particularly numerous; Brazil, China, Japan, Canada and the USA were also among the top nations. South Korea, as the partner country, presented around 100 exhibitors under the motto 'Flavour meets Trends', showcasing fermented classics like kimchi and gochujang alongside modern food tech solutions. Anuga 2025 was themed 'Sustainable Growth' and featured a diverse event and congress programme. Key highlights included the new Anuga Alternatives trade show focusing on plant-based and cell-cultivated products, the Anuga Trend Zone, and the Anuga HORIZON Stage with panel discussions on alternative proteins, sustainability, and food tech. The event was supported by high-level political interest, with visits from the German Minister of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity, and the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs from the Republic of Korea. Gerald Böse, President and CEO of Koelnmesse, stated: 'Anuga impressively demonstrates the central role it plays for the international food industry: It is a showcase for the success of an entire sector and a key driver of billions in sales.'- 2
